Today I woke up not knowing who the hell I was. I felt so disconnected from reality to the point where I spent the better part of the morning disassociating and struggle to get through chores, stopping midway because I kept forgetting what I was doing. It was weird and unsettling. Like I left myself in a different dimension and I was just a meat suit walking around. And I spent the better part of the day sleeping because I wasn't feeling like myself and I was tired. Has anyone ever gone through something like this?

I think it might be called derealization/depersonalization. I'm not sure though. But it can be quite common in people with anxiety disorders/depression. Didn't experience it myself, but I heard of it a lot.

You feel inebriated, so you barely remember parts and pieces, but you know you lived through it?

It begins in your sleep, and you wake up feeling completely changed. You know, like when you switch from intoxicated to hungover.

The sound is also a little echo'ish. You may also hear someone speaking to you in your brain.

It also seems like your limbs are heavy, as if they are sleep. You may also experience a lack of sensation while reaching out to touch objects. I remember once trying to feed the dog, but despite seeing the bowl, I was unable to actually pick it up. This is the strangest sensation ever! Hahahaha

You may also see yourself outside your body, gazing at what you are doing. It seems like you are dead and looking at someone, yet it is really you. Lol

I believe they are illusions, and your perceptions are warped.

I hope I'm explaining things right.

It's brought on by traumatic stress. Your body and mind just give up. Shuts down!

It takes at least two nights to shake it off.

When going to bed at night, use care. I've already gone outside in the middle of the night twice.
Emergency services were called, and I woke up in the ER. Neighbors apparently found me "sleep walking."

Happened with me multiple times after I got covid. In such moments i had feeling that i don't belong in my environment and everything seems extremely unfamiliar. Usually it lasts a few minutes.

I relate to this so much. In moments of this I feel like I blink in and out of existence. In moments of awareness I catch myself thinking wth I'm doing, or a sudden realization that I'm disassociating. Sometimes I also feel like I have no body awareness, I become increasing clumsy bumping and knocking over things. Sometimes I feel like my soul is just beside my physical body, just observing myself doing things. I sleep a lot during these times too. The way you described it as a 'meat suit' lugged around is accurate for me too.

I've experienced exactly what you describe and it kind of makes me feel less crazy to hear that someone has gone through the same thing lol.❤️
