I remember reading about someone mixing chemicals in a container and like inhaling in a tight space like a car.

It looks like inhaling detergent fumes could be fatal, but tbh it seems like it would, at this stage, be a weak plan based mainly on guesswork, as it is not a widespread method, there are very few if any cases of deliberate poisoning.

However, I'll share what I did find:
Detergent poisoning can cause symptoms in many parts of the body.
BLOOD
  • Severe change in acid level of blood (pH balance), which leads to damage in all of the body organs
HEART AND CIRCULATION SYSTEM
LUNGS AND AIRWAYS
  • Breathing difficulty (from breathing in the detergent)
  • Throat swelling (may also cause breathing difficulty)

It's mentioned in the PPeH on pg. 159. Most people are turned off by the fact that it can cause serious harm and possibly death to the people who happen to find you.

Not everyone is going to care but it's also potentially dangerous towards others. I think the PPH mentions you should include a printout that warns others of there being a dangerous gas. Emergency crew can stumble in and they'd be exposed to the gases. Honestly, it sounds like a fucked up and painful way to die to me. When I was examining methods, it didn't take me long to move on to other ideas.

I think that would cause a lot of pain (stinging in the eyes, nostrils) and would generally just be a very irritating way to kill yourself
