my family found my SN before i could ctb so they are currently not allowing me to leave the house or be alone except for when i sleep. this is the only way i can think of to do it. i have a cheap belt from target that i could use. i tried putting one end through the buckle to create a loop and pulling to close it around my neck then taking the loose end and sticking it through a sliding open window, then closing the window so the belt is between the frame and the window. i then sat down to see if it would hold my weight and cause the loop to close around my neck and it did both. i need to make sure this works so i have some questions. will this work? do i need to make any changes to my plan? how long do i need? the belt does not come out of the window with my weight but it does when i pull with a lot of force and effort is that a problem? will i thrash around and make a lot of noise as i die? my family will be asleep and if i wake them up they will find me before i die. also i have tried pulling the belt as tight as possible around my neck and i get discomfort from the sensation like not being able to swallow or having something tight around my neck but i dont get dizzy or pass out? pls help i rlly need help

I heard people failing to ctb since the belt is not strong enough or/and the support. It also depends if you struggle out due to SI on time and if somebody finds you.

Most likely the thrashing due to SI will wake them up if you do not learn to deal with SI. Hanging is normally painless without asphyxiation and if you double your height enough to snap your neck.

It depends on a lot of factors. If you're small and the belt is sturdy, it may work. Once you go unconscious, your body will convulse as it starts to shut down... if the belt is cheap, it may break from all the tension on it when you're moving like that.

I once came close that way, but I'm a larger guy. I went unconscious pretty easily, but the belt couldn't hold during the convulsions and I woke up on the floor with a broken belt. It snapped right in the middle.

First the belt method that ur using doesn't seem great ill put a pic of course this is partial i didn't really understand ur setup here u need to tie the other end to the other side of the doorknob then ur end to creat a noose also u'll need a strong that u can trust belt, Second don't try using it while anybody is close even if ur parents are asleep even if u didn't trash around witch u will if somebody just found u before u die 30 mins at u'll get a brain damage no joke, and for the right spot just keep trying no body gets it in the first times.

I've read about a Romanian scientist who is famous for performing multiple hanging experiments on himself. It's much faster than people realise.

the picture is exactly what i did except sticking through the window instead of the door. i cant figure out how to tie a knot with the belt because it is too stiff but just closed through the door should be enough right? is the door better than the window?

im pretty small like under 140 pounds. the belt was like ten dollars and the company is known for using cheap materials and other stuff i have from there ripped or broke easily so im concerned about that. is there something else i could use besides the belt? did you have any brain damage or aftereffects from the failed attempt? thanks for the response
Don't just close the door on it u should tie it
how do you tie it? i tried tying it in a knot but due to the material and thickness of the belt cant get it nearly small enough to stay on a doorknob, much less be secure? sorry im asking so many questions but i understand the consequences of failure are pretty severe

Hi @user667 ,
One could use a strip cut from a bed-sheet, which may be longer, stronger and more comfortable than the cheap belt.
Regarding closing the window or door on the loose end of a belt, perhaps insert a screwdriver or the like through one of the buckle-holes before pulling the window/ door shut so the belt doesn't slip out from the closure.
Good luck, mate.

It is not. You will likely end up in the hospital, and you may get SSRI syndrome. Sorry I couldn't give you the answer you want.

It should be fine to just close the door on the end of the belt. I'm about twice your size, and that part of the belt held just fine when I tried. If it's cheap material, though, the belt will probably break. A sheet could be a viable alternative, but a belt is a lot easier since all you have to do is slide one end through the buckle. You have to actually tie a sheet, so that gets into more of the logistics of tying the knot right, knot placement and all that stuff.

This is my plan, I have a thick black belt and I'm looping it so the long part is wedged in between the wardrobe door, I will sit down on my computer chair and have my head through the loop and then sorta push forwards (hard to explain in writing) this will be my second attempt on partial, the first I got in the wrong place and made my head feel like it was going to explode but wasn't sat down.

It is fast to hang. I tried it a day ago and I was in pass out mode in like 30 seconds. But i deliberately had the cord tight around my neck. So I do plan on CTB this way since I know it's going to work for me.

Make sure nobody's there to save you from hanging! If your family lives with you, take extra measures to make sure they're not home when you do it! Like do it when you know they'll be away for a few hours. I wanted to hang myself too but it's not possible because I still live with family.

I tried hanging partialy and failed because my body automaticaly moved while convulsing making me regain air and consciousness, wich caused failure.

I tried full suspension from railings and failed because my foot convulsed its way on outside edge of stair and pushed me up enough for me to wake up and panic in pain.

So i noticed, if my body is touching anything when i hang i will wake up and fail. All nooses held tight and so did anchors. Theres nobody to find me either. Its just that i dont have empty area where i cant touch anything, and just hang freely.

If you choose hanging and decide to go through with it, i wish you luck so you dont get really hurt in the end if it fails.
Make sure to test the anchor, knot, belt, rope or whatever by holding onto it and pulling with your weight, depending on how much weight itll hold. If its not looking good itll be worse when you attempt.

After 5 failed atempts i started recording myself cuz i knew it wont work. I convulsed and trashed really hard. Unconciouss body really did good job getting out of danger and getting air..

Good luck, be careful

is thicker belt or thinner belt better? does the buckle go on the front, side or back?

I prefer a thicker belt but if you go on the wiki and click hanging it shows you the best literature of each hanging. The buckle would go at the back.
