  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Hello, friends. Jumping is actually my primary method but since my parents are leaving me home this Sunday (they rarely do, like twice a year), I could get an opportunity to have a more comfortable death. I already know where the anchor point will be, which is the top of the steel door. I know my parents' plans could change but the thought of this already gets me excited. Hanging is 100x better than jumping IMO.

Will an extension cord work? How many minutes does it take for brain death to occur? Will a leather belt be enough to support my weight? What other rope alternatives can I use that are commonly found at home?

I've seen loads of people succeed with extention cords but plenty of people fail too, since it's just some rubber and copper not designed to hold much weight they aren't as strong as they look. Bathrobe belts are a pretty good one if they aren't too thick. A belt is probably going to be uncomfortable, but this really all depends on if it's partial or suspended. If it's only part of your body weight on it, the extention chord could hold up but I personally wouldn't risk it

Thank you for your response. I will try if a few cords wrapped together would work + a towel maybe. Times running out for me and I probably wouldn't be able to find a nylon rope :(

Yeah I think multiple cords should be enough. Some people have done it with just a towel but it looks a bit tricky. Good luck!

Extension cord will break. And all aren't the same thickness. Here in France the type E I have with ground is quite thick, but will still break if it had to hold 53kg.
