You can simply use a doorknob, tie the rope to a doorknob, then, throw the rope to the other end of the door and you are good to go.

It is way more than enough.
But a handle isn't guaranteed to hold.

Roll a small towel up tight, cigarette shaped.
Tie one end of the rope round it in the middle.
Open door, chuck towel over top then pull it up to the top. Slam door trapping rope, pull on it hard to test. The towel on the other side will stop it pulling through.
