Hi- I am trying to get all my final preperations together for the near future hopefully (nervous). I have tried to research as best I could on SN megathreads- But I havent read them daily as and when new questions were being asked- and as the threads grow and grow to be pages long.

I can not find a clear answer now as to which is best either: H2 Blockers (I think pph calls them H2 antagonists) such as Cimetidine, Ranitidine (Zantac-which I currently do have) etc OR just Antacids eg; Alka Seltzer, Milk of Magnesia, Pepto-bismol etc.

Does anyone recall what people on here used if they put up their plans on here & were successful? Or just where has it been decided which is best?

I have tried looking, I couldnt find an answer.

Thank you

I remember some people used Tagamet (cimetidine), and all of them have not updated, so, most probably successful.

Ok- I just getting so confused and getting really upset now and I really dont want to be at this point- I really need to be getting things right. I got the Ranitidine one but then ive seem people say its too much for this and all you need is a super basic antacid-like even those tums tablets kind of things. I dont know which to chose. Im crying writing this. I HAVE to get the right ingredients for this 'recipe'. thanku

Thks. I'm obvs getting more and more upset and emotionally - I know everyone says u need to be calm and at peace with your choice etc. but it's not that easy- I'm planning my own death- it's quite an emotional thing to have to do! & despite thinking clearly on my intent to do it-I still find it hard to focus & take in all this conflicting info. I haven't been lazy and expected easy answer to anything- but there are certain points where I can't even see a general over riding consensus/ agreement on and this is one of them. Thks for hugs

Same here. I feel like I've researched a lot and scoured threads and cross referenced and tried a lot on my own and with help from others and every time I feel I have it nailed down, I come across a conflicting thread of info or an old thread gets commented on and pushes an old thread up in the feed and then I don't know if that info is reliable or not anymore. So confusing during an already heart wrenching time. And as for me, SN seems like the only thing I could even consider or follow through with given my resources and abilities. People say if you aren't comfortable with a method, choose another but some of us can't fathom or complete other methods. But I'm having a tough time right now too with all this. Sorry you're feeling so bad; just know you aren't alone in the feeling.

Thanks Heart, yeah, it's such a tough time emotionally already- and now I'm a little scared to ask questions incase people get angry/ annoyed and I am encountering a lot of anger directed at me irl too - so can't handle it. It hard cos im not planning for way in advance - but soon- and really need to clear up a few final things - but worried people think the answer is already there in one of the pages & pages long threads already but then as you said all the info gets changed or pushed back according to various pages on the thread!

H2 Blockers reduce the amount of acid your stomach makes, will begin to work in 1-2 hours but will take a few days of regular dosage to get the full effect. An antacid neutralises the acid which is already in the stomach, so you get the full effect straight away, all be it for a shorter period of time.

So the idea would be taking a H2B (the recommended dose on the label - say, 800g Tagamet) every day for a couple of days before beginning the regimen and then taking the double dose (1200g Tagamet) 1 hour to 30 minutes before drinking SN.
Correct?

Two days before you kill yourself I'd take something like zofran which you will have to get from your doctor. You have to take it every 6-8 hours and not eat. My friend used zofran to overdose on pain meds.

That's an option. However I think we're in danger of overcomplicating things again. You won't fail just because you take a H2 Blocker instead of an antacid or vice versa.

what would be more suitable then H2 blockers or antacids for SN?

Do I need to take milk of magnesia significantly closer to the time frame of SN? I was going to use Tagamet and the guide had said 30 mins before but you say it could take 1-2 hours. If I just do milk of magnesia should it be 30 mins before or closer to SN?

H2 Blockers begin to work within 30mins but for optimal effects needs 1-3 hours. Antacids begin working immediately, optimal effects 30mins-1hr.

HB2 blockers used in combination counteract the hypotensive effects of histamine. However, they're not that effective at raising blood pressure in general. Still, the latest wiki updates suggest that if you take HB2 blockers with SN, it will take longer to become unconscious.

In sum:

HB2 blockers =

- Slower SN absorption (alleged, not verified)
- Slower to act compared to traditional antiacids
- Increased gastric PH production
- If I use Tagamet, I need something to nod off with i.e. benzos

+ You won't have any acid in your stomach
+ I can chew on a magnesium tablet anyway. No indication suggesting I shouldn't
