Gun placement

So I live in a state where getting a gun is like ordering a pizza, so I'm thinking about that. Mercifully I know you're not supposed to put the gun under the chin. Great way to blow your jaw off. But the idea of putting it in the mouth seems off putting to me. Would slight above and slightly back of the ear be a good place?

In the mouth is absolutely the most reliable way. I have personally known of people who survived the chest and the temple.

Once you have the weapon, before you ever load it, you can get desensitized by practicing putting the barrel in your mouth. It would also be wise to visit a shooting range if you have no experience with firearms.

I updated it. The ear. so back of the ear. I know temple is super dangerous too. It'll make you go blind but survivability is still very much in play. I live close to Wyoming so ill be a good hour away from any hospital and alone. You hear of poor shmucks who do it in their house with someone in the other room etc. I was told once "If you make it to the hospital alive they will probably keep you that way, although you will wish that wasn't the case".

Well, it's your body your choice. I respect that. My perspective is that if you're not impulsive, you can take the time to desensitize. Or, you can take the risk of a very different life. Maybe there are other potential outcomes besides success, a long-term recovery, and being severely impaired. Like I said, it's just my perspective.

No, that makes sense. "Shoot to kill" right? no need to mess around if someone is serious. I think we're all past the point of "cries for help". I'll try the desensitization thing.

If I remember correctly, while reading the megathread, that was one of the discussed gun placements. And a decent sum said that it was fine as a placement, as long as you still hit the proper area(s). I heard the the mouth was more efficient, but for people uncomfortable with it, it could still be used. I may be wrong, so make sure to check it. Moreover, I'm not that proficient in the method as a whole, I remember the spot being the brain stem, but perhaps you target differently when using the side of the head, I don't know, haven't checked in awhile. Make sure to check it, I may just have a terrible memory aha. Good luck.

I don't understand the reason for not putting the gun in your mouth. If you fail, you're fucked, it's what it's. If you want to CTB, do it properly. Just my opinion.
I'm envious. I wish I could get a gun in Spain. I'm better, but I still want to CTB.

Flinching would be my concern, and you blow off your cheek. I was thinking with behind the ear, even if I flinch i'm taking a damn good piece of brain out either way. And seeing how ill be alone in the wilderness...let nature do its course after that if its not completely successful. Shitty way to go but then again, most deaths are pretty terrible. Ivan the impaler comes to mind. But the other commentator was right. You've got to get comfortable with the idea and do 'practice runs".
