Look into my eyes and tell me who I really am

I don't know if this has been done before. But I just wanted to create a thread to take a second to think about the things we can be grateful for in our lives... think about the positive side.

Anyone who wants to do it is welcome😁.

I want to thank the people who love me. I am grateful for my body, because at least I can do things I like and with it I can support the people I love. I know that I constantly think about the past, about the people who are no longer here or the things I have lost. But I would like to be grateful for what I have, and for the people who are still in my life and the ones who have arrived. I want to thank God for all of this... and for being alive.

Hello and thank you @Makoto,
Even though today I feel so low,
I am deeply grateful for this thread,
And for considerate words [1] you spread!

I suppose, gratitude is a skill [2],
So I'd like to practice it here.
I hope my post is not overkill -
Now my heart shifted into top gear!

For my healthy body, thanks the Lord -
Every day, at the gym my heart pounds.
And when I bench press sixty-six pounds [3]-
I gain more muscle as a reward!

I've vented about my depression,
But people here has been by my side.
Thank you, friends on Sanctioned Suicide -
A platform for our self-expression!

Notes:
[1] For example:
[2] My "gratitude journal" became vague and banal whenever I tried to start it, so I gave up. I needed another approach to practice gratitude.
[3] I'm 37F and my bench press stuck on 66 lbs (30 kg)😂

They say you don't know what you have until it's gone.

I had a lot of physical problems which at one point left me practically bedbound and in pain.

Since then I have pretty much made a full revovery on that side and I am so grateful for all the little things I can do

Just standing in the kitchen and baking a cake
Going for a walk whenever I feel like it
Going for a run
Being able to play video games
Reading a book (yes I couldn't even do this)

There is loads more but just generally having a healthy painfree body is such a blessing

My NHS Care Coordinator and Psychologist are fab. Even though they want to section me at the moment, they're doing everything they can to avoid it. As to the wider MH team… they can go do one.
