In Fr their is around30 suicide / day (3Xmore than car crash death)...
Same thing in the US ?

I'd think that as cultures become more aware, suicide rates would increase. Despite our technological advancement and our accumulation of recorded history, our emotions don't seem to be evolving as quickly. So we can still be so abusive towards each other. I wouldn't want to stick around in this muck. Especially knowing what likely waits in old age.
Its because of same reason you're here, knowledge. Society needs control over it's (lesser) members, to keep them distracted and working. Withholding knowledge is one way it is enforced, if it can't be censored, it is demonized. Which is why when you search for anything suicide related you either getting tons of patronizing "help" pages or something about how "gruesome" or "tragic" the suicide was. Look at that entire debacle involving Shawn Shatto. Everyone involved (parents/suits) was quick to say it wasn't needed and was quick to blaim SS for helping her, even trying to spin it into making a law. They never once understood that -this is what she wanted, she wanted to die fullstop. You feel as if you don't want to live anymore, so you want to die, why is that so fking wrong? Anyways I think I should stop here cuz it sounds like I'm rambling now.
It's probably more about disinterest of media about "simple peoples suicides". I mean that in France, the only related suicide concern Cops and Teachers at this time... few years ago it was about France Telecom (Orange) workers ...
