Lack of sleep + staying up late = horrible existence that I want to end asap. Sleeping pills help me an unreasonable amount.
With that in mind, I have been trying to establish with a PCP since August. Was told earliest appt was October. Okay, fine. Three weeks prior to appt, they call, "Provider won't be in the office day, so appt in December." (so, two months later)
Okay, fine. Two weeks prior they call and say the same line. New appt in January. (again, two months later)
Well one week before that appt, they call - same line - new appt in February. (now, one month later...progress?)
I certainly investigated looking into other places, but it was always three+ months out. I just couldn't imagine they'd keep doing this, because it's never happened before. So I feel like Charlie Brown and also feel very foolish for not making an appointment elsewhere. But hey, if I weren't an absolute idiot, well, let's just say my life might be tolerable.
For the record, I don't need a lot of sleeping pills, I usually take 2.5mg (a quarter pill of my 10mg), and maybe a melatonin. Resistance gradually builds up and so, like with caffeine, I do periodic "cleanses" to reset my tolerance. I'm actually rather healthy and good about self-care, but sleeping pills are still absolutely necessary for those nights when my stupid brain won't give me a break. And it is just such a relief to shut it up - to know I'm about to have a horrible night where I stay up late to hurt myself and instead get a full night's sleep.
Although speaking of which, the thing I really dislike about prescribed sleeping pills is how groggy they make me. So hard to get up in the morning, and I feel if I just slept in until I'd naturally wake up I'd sleep 10-11+ hours.
I dunno. Not feeling like I can make it till the appointment anyway.
