it's a painful method but either i'm going to do ligature strangulation tomorrow or im going to slice my throat.

i have extreme chronic pain, nightmares, ptsd, bpd, depression, anxiety, ptsd, you name it. the cherry on top is 2 incurable chronic conditions and i'm partially disabled

i've been begging doctors to give me pain meds but they couldn't care less.

it's so sad that if i had $1k or anything close to that i could buy enough kratom to get a job and hope again but i have nobody and my family is abusive and my credit is shit because when i got disabled i couldn't pay my bills

i have nothing to live for and im done with life.

lit strangulation is typically unsuccessful, as someone that's tried to do it in the past. not to downplay the pain that's causing you to attempt. i'm worried about how you plan on slitting your throat because it seems easier to mess up instead of die because of natural SI. could you say why you chose these methods?

sadly partially the reason im going too. chronic pain is fucked. it makes me feel bad that im only 24 and its a 4 year long chronic shoulder pain thats causing me to partially think like this but with everything else stacking against me and trying to fix the plot for 10 years. you run out of hope and fuel. esecially being in such pain with such shitty people around. my parents abused me most of my life and its funny. they have now come around and accepted me but it litterally after all the damage has been done.....

i get how you feel op with some other things more unique to me. i wish you peace. nobody deserves chronic pain

i feel bad for letting the pain defeat me considering my father had his spine and pelvis broken and his legs folded the wrong way then broken in a billion bits and is in so much more pain then me but something i have always said is pain is pain

I'm concerned that you're ready for your attempt both practically and emotionally. I'm not going to dismiss you're feeling like hopeless and that it's the time. Especially cutting your throat can keep you alive but leave extra pain and damage. I believe your wellbeing still matter more than the suffering a failed attempt will cause. Whatever you finally decide I hope it goes well and you find your peace

Why is it usually unsuccessful? I was planning to use the same method. I also wanted to CTB today, but I have a window of until Tuesday if I need a new method.

Partial hanging should also block the carotids once the person loses consciousness – you don't need full suspension. It doesn't take a lot of weight to block them. The problem is that people can't get themselves to pass out. Even when gravity helps, it's hard to apply enough pressure.

This is also the reason why ligature strangulation doesn't really work. In theory it can work, and a few people are able to do it, but most people can't. The problem is not that it doesn't work from a mechanical perspective, but that your survival instinct will prevent you from pulling the ligature tight enough.

It seems like you didn't get what I was trying to say in my previous post. It doesn't matter how strong you are! Your survival instinct, your subconscious, your limbic brain (whatever you want to call it) will prevent you from doing it. It's an innate instinct. It's a hardwired behaviour. Why do you think it is that people can't even pass out by partial hanging when they would just need to lower themselves? That doesn't require any strength.

Chronic pain sufferer here, for the last 6 months, its not a ton of time but it ruined my life, so i know how you feel.
