Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

This week I found out I'm getting laid off again. This time around I don't have much debt but my emergency fund is small. I already was laid off 2 years ago and was unemployed for 4 months plus had to switch jobs 3 times last year. Now I'm getting laid off again and only have 3 months left on my current job unless some miracle happens and they find me a different project. This time around too I've heard the job market is much worse and I am getting pretty scared. I always just want to end my own life to get out of this nightmare and if I run out of money definitely do it. I don't think they will be many tech jobs in the future and for retraining for a different industry. My local trade unions program takes an entire year just to go thru the application process before I would even be able to start earning money. and once your past that stage you won't be making a livable wage for a couple of years, and even then once the AI data center build out finishes, construction workers will face the same fate as laid off tech workers. And healthcare, don't get me started, the working conditions are so awful from all the strikes I've seen on the news, takes many years of schooling and only pays well if your in a union job or at least a union dense area. There's also the issue of the patients healthcare workers are going to be seeing are just going to keep getting sicker and sicker every year from age and also less people able to afford health insurance

I live in the U.S. and I just semi-retired at the age of 70 and from what I have been reading and hearing, A.I. will reshape the economy in so many ways.

I will not be around to see it, however, I wish that I could come back like in 1000 years or so and see what happen(ed).

Universal basic income, like in sci-fi movies where money means nothing no more, hope, becomes the standard.

I read where a lady that was a software engineer was laid off and she went to welding school and she is now a full-time welder.

Long story short, my heart really goes out to you, especially here in the U.S. with orange face totally wrecking the economy 100%, I hope and pray that you do well, and that you get more projects to keep you at your current position.

I 100% agree with you, as, at least as far as I am concerned, benefit packages are as or more important than the comp plan. I went on Medicare and I am paying for items and procedures now that I did not have to under my company plan.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and I am sending you positive vibes, hugs and well wishes.

Walter
