Getting a deadly disease.

This is probably not a way someone would want to go out, but i am interested to see if there is a possibility. So, i was thinking how could you pick up some deadly virus or bacteria, that could kill you in a few weeks time. I know rotten flesh can have a very dangerous bacteria in itself. I am prone to colds and flu, so is there a way to attack my lungs or throat or any other part of the raspiratory system. If this thread does not belong here and is too weird, just delete it, but if someone knows a way to get seriously sick please share.

I am sorry for opening two threads, i just did not want to ask bunch of different questions in one thread.

Oh I would love to go out this way. Then it would be natural causes and less stress and hurt for my mum and sister. Not weird at all imo!

There are a million reasons why this isn't a great plan, but it mainly boils down to the fact that you can't just will yourself a fatal disease. You can't really control when or how you get sick. It's not reliable.

Besides, it's miserable. Just having a cold feels like shit. Think how much worse you'd have to feel dying of an illness.

I understand the appeal of a natural death and all that, but fantasy and reality are so different. Most people who have faced a deadly illness will tell you it's not a good way to go. I almost died of pneumonia when I had cancer. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Sure, no stress for your mom and sister. They'd just have to spend days or weeks at your hospital bedside watching you suffer, praying that you will pull through, while medical bills pile up. Then maybe eventually get to take you home in a wheelchair after doctors had to amputate a few of your limbs to save your life.

1. I never said no stress. I said less stress. If I were to get ill it would be natural, meaning they wouldn't be asking what they could have done differently or blaming themselves.
2. I was thinking more of a virus.. not every illness results in amputations..
3. I wouldn't have medical bills as I'm in the UK.. plus when I said I'd love this, I was thinking more along the lines of, I get ill, die of complications quickly meaning I wouldn't be draining the NHS of money for weeks. Of course I wouldn't want my family by my bedside for weeks, i just know that when I ctb they'll spend way more than a few weeks potentially blaming themselves.

No need to apologise. I'm sorry I'm probably being overly sensitive. I know that this isn't even an option. I was merely saying, wishful thinking, I would catch a virus and drift away and it would be easier for my family when I'm gone. As that's not an option SN or CO it is haha! :)

I think most of us would like the same thing -- a peaceful, painless death that looks unintentional and causes as little pain as possible to those left behind. *sigh*

I don't think it's a bad idea. The good thing is, that you will die in a controlled enviromnent, the hospital bed with access to pain killing management. I think it's a smart way of suiciding to be honest. The only issue is how. I thought about getting HIV and refuse to take medicine.

I would not advise HIV without medicine, that has to be one of the most painful and drawn out ways there is to go - it would be like dying of starvation and typhoid in a concentration camp plus leukemia.
