• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I at least know for which party J.D. Vance would vote. He supports the right-wing extreme party AfD. Which ironically agitates against the US regularly. And sympathizes with Russia. But the AfD considers to change her take on the US with the new Trump administration. And Vance also seems to be on the side of Russia more or less.

The US is throwing away all their soft power with these folks.

I already voted by mail. I voted for Olaf Scholz. I wish he would have been more hawkish on Ukraine. I think the government had so many flaws. And it was obvious he does not get re-elected. But the Ukraine war hit the economy massively and I think the coalition consisting out of 3 parties (for the first time in the history of my country) was extremely hard to handle. With a neoliberal party that blocks most reforms. Tbh rationally his policies were the best in my lifetime of any chancellor for me. For poor or lower middle class people. Still the people hate him and it the election on Sunday will be a disaster for him. Poor people support the AfD which is so so ironic and stupid because they want massive tax cuts for rich people. It is similar to Trump. However, no other party wants a coalition with them thus far. We are very scared this could change in the future.

The next chancellor will very likely be Friedrich Merz from the Christian Democracts. He was a big opponent of Angela Merkel when they were both in higher positions in that party. But she defeated Merz and he ran away to the private sector to make money. He did it for the money. And then he returned some years ago for his ego not for the country. He is very neoliberal. But not in the American sense gladly. He will take money from the poor and give it to the rich and corportations. As I said I voted for the SPD Olaf Scholz's party. It is the mostly likely coalition CDU with SPD. I really hope a coalition consisting of two parties will be possible everything else would be a disaster. And I hope the Socialdemocrats can burst some bubbles of Merz's neoliberal wet dreams.

Political analysts and me and my friends look into a very grim future. I doubt Merz is the right candidate to steer this ship. He already copies right-wing populist rhethoric but the people prefer the original. I will give him a chance. Maybe he can convince me with his Ukraine policies. I hope his policies will be good for the economy. The most important thing will be to fix the economy. But he will exactly target people like me for this reason. There are many indications there is too much inertia. Germany needs massive reforms and investitions. They will take years to show progress even if they could implement reforms. It is way more likely that the US is a look into our future. The US is often like a mirror in the future for us.

Here comes J.D Vance into play who seemingly loves to interfere in foreign elections. In my country there are consideration to prohibit the party AfD because they are anti-constitutional. It is not easy to ban them. Many hurdles had to be taken. And if they fail in this process it will massively legitimate the party. Thus far I am against prohibiting the AfD. However, if it looks like they are the strongest party and will govern the country even I would be in favor to ban them. Maybe it would be too late. I don't know. My friends sympathize with the ban currently. But I think it would not be that easy. The whole thing is pretty intricate and for an American it must sound authoritarian to ban a party. However, it is writen in our constitution and we have protection measures due to the tolerance paradox how Karl Popper described it. Right-wing and leftwing extreme people try to defeat democracy with its own measures and freedoms. It is exactly what Hitler was doing in Weimar. It a very similar strategy. And most Constitutions don't have such protection measures when extremists try to exploit demoicracy against itself.
It is really scary of what is happening in the US. I think Germany cannot recover when the world around it is burning. We need to export our products to prosper. I think it is likely the economy is spiraling even further. And in 2029 or maybe 2033 it will be too late. And the AfD will lead the government. History would have repeated itself and we would not have learned from history. I mean the year 2033 would have symbolic character. Sorry I don't have better news for you guys.

The AfD is not a right-wing extreme party, the other parties are left-wing extreme. Germanies problems are the excessive welfare state, excessive bureaucracy, extreme climate hysteria and unlimited superservience to the USA. Our government ignored the fact, that the war in the Ukraine is a proxy war of the USA against Russia and they wasted my taxes to support the aggressor.
