Gattaca

Just a random thought I had this morning, but I wish I could give my identity to someone else like in Gattaca. I was fortunate to come from a good family, and have a great education. I hold a PhD from a well respected University, had a very bright future in science, but now it is no use to me being disabled.

It's fun to imagine someone might inherit those hard-won credentials from me and then live an excellent life.

Their hard-won for a reason, receiving something on a golden plate will never be as good as achieving it yourself.

That's true, I agree. But many people are born to a situation where good education is not much of a possibility. If such a person had decent knowledge of science, and could credibly pretend to be me, I would be happy the degree did not go to waste. Of course, just a fantasy.

That's fair, but from my perspective, everything I've done so far has been hard fought and it made hopefully a smarter and better individual.. If I had it served on a golden plate, I would never be happy, because I didn't earn it.
