Does anyone here know how to ensure argon's purity is as stated?

Sending a sample off for analysis is basically your only option afaik.

Is there any reason you doubts its purity? Argon is basically a strictly industrial/welding gas, those sources usually is held at a higher quality than like ballon helium. Does the source/fill station state any purity levels?

It's more so the desire to be certain than any specific suspicions. I haven't purchased yet but intend to order it online, and have more misgivings because of that.

Online vendors often specify purity levels, you may have to dig around the documentation through. Also be aware there are several welding mixtures like Argon + co2, be sure to double check.

Are you intending to go with the inert gas method? If so I'm curious why you chose Argon instead of nitrogen?

It's very unlikely that you're gonna get ripped off on the purity of argon. It's 99.99% gonna be whatever is listed in the assay sheet.

The purity levels were specified, but some of the reviews from welders suggested potential variety in the product once obtained. Unfortunately, I've had no luck finding anything else that even claims to be pure, which is why I went with this instead of my initial plan of nitrogen. Any advice on that would be appreciated though!
