Basically i hate funerals, actually i hate these kinds of traditions in general; christmas party, birthday party, funerals, etc.
i don't want to be cremated too, for superstitious reasons
i think that my soul will prematurely feel the burning
Anyway, wich are other choices that i and others anti-funeral persons could have ? a while ago i read somewhere that your body could be turned into a tree and be planted in the Amazon, don't know if is true tho.
Also what are your thoughts about funerals ? do you think someone would cry for your death ? what song would you like to be played in that occasion ?

Loving your Juuzou pfp!

I guess I wouldn't mind a funeral, but I want to be cremated or planted to grow a tree. I'm still kind of teetering on that.

Perhaps your friends can just have a small group get together to celebrate your life?
Same with your family. Rather than a public funeral that will catch attention.

Much love. x

Funerals are not for the dead but for the living. If you have any family/friends that care deeply for you, why not leave it up to them? You won't be around to know or care about what they do, especially if you're going to ctb without telling anyone in advance. Even if you believe in some sort of afterlife, your loved ones will know nothing about it, and they might want the support and finality that a funeral gives them.

I don't want a funeral, and I know no one will come besides my immediate family. So I'm going to leave it up to them. If they want it then I'm going to be leaving them enough money to arrange for that. I want my organs donated if possible and a natural burial, but that will all be left up to my family honestly, if they want to cremate me that's fine too.

On the YouTube channel Ask A Mortician, she talks a lot about how the traditional burial with embalming and the huge casket and vault are actually quite harmful to the Earth and unreasonably expensive. Cremating is a lot better than a traditional burial, but still harmful. There's no need to keep destroying the Earth even after you've gone, so a natural burial, water cremation, or growing a tree and stuff are really good ideas that still allow for your loved ones to mourn you in the same ways that traditional burial and cremation do.

Thank to you both for replying and sharing your thoughts;
The problem is that i have no ties to anyone outside the internet, it's been a while since i stopped living in reality and since then i've been living in the virtual world doping me with sensory illusions. I am what they call NEET, I have a family, but our relationship is so distant that the idea of a funeral would be too much ankward, my father doesn't even know when my birthday is lol.
The fact is my parents would want a funeral to maintain their reputation as a good Samaritan, I who was born and lived with them know it's all a scam, I don't blame them, I also pretend to be what I am not, I must have inherited of them
Anyway, it's my fault for not making this clear in the post, my English is horrible so I avoided writing too much sorry.

There's this thing called Capsula Mundi. I have no idea how expensive it is, but basically a special process converts your body into an egg-like capsule. Then your family/friend/etc. plants it under a sapling. Your body acts as fertilizer and nutrients for the tree, helping it grow, and the best part is it could be planted wherever, a friend's backyard if they wanted.

Personally I think this is a much better way to be buried. It seems much nicer than rotting away in a depressing old box.

I made a research about that and as a environmentalist i loved the idea, the only problem is the price, in the site says that both the sand and the white capsula mundi costs U$ 440,00 each, in my country that would be R$ 2,340,62, it's expensive considering that a funeral here would be for free.

I don't like the idea of funerals because of how damn expensive they are. I would much rather have a memorial. If I understand right, a memorial is kind of like a funeral but significantly cheaper?

I don't care if people I hardly know show up and act all fake like they cared. Maybe it's guilt on their part, maybe it's something else. Meh.

I do want to have something though because it provides closure and, hopefully, fosters a sense of community among the loved ones I'll leave behind. I don't know if I want an actual grave though. I don't deserve to take up space in a cemetary. At the same time, if anyone cares enough to do so, it'll allow them to "visit me" after I'm dead. Lol.

Wow they don't even know your birthday? That's terrible. I couldn't imagine living like that. Honestly, if your family is really this uncaring for you, I wouldn't expect that they'd respect your funeral or burial plans, especially if they are the type to do big things just for show. They might give you the typical gaudy funeral/burial regardless of your wishes, and maybe even cremate you if they follow a religion where that's common. It's important to be prepared for that possibility even if you're not going to be around to know. It's always nice to have a plan though in case they do decide to listen to you.

Your English is really good! Honestly though ctb is not the solution to a NEET life with a bad family. There's other ways out of that, and it requires lots of frustration sometimes, but you never know! Maybe that different suffering is better than what you're experiencing now. Of course I don't know your full situation, so I'm sorry to give unsolicited advice, but I sincerely hope you can do the best that you can with whatever you choose to do.

If it helps, I think it pretty much happens to everyone. People's guilt, fake feelings, whatever...they're not my problem. That's something the person doing it has to deal with. I just feel bad because it's really going to piss my parents off.

** Just read your post about your parents and I'm so sorry. I hope my post didn't upset you. I guess I'm saying this from a pretty...er, privileged place. I'm sorry if I said something callous.

I mean, the current funeral industry tends be exploitative and very expensive, and they + general societal pressures might very well pressure your family into going into debt giving you a funeral that they don't really need. In the absence of a clear directive from you, they may even believe that it's what you want. Making it clear that you don't mind alternatives could help them a lot.

maybe you're right, but i have a little hope that they will respect my choice, at least in death... maybe that remind them that i am their son
