After reading all these miraculous accounts of people being found too early in apartments or hotels, I'm thinking the safest bet is to go to a forest in a remote area of town. I have yet to see a failed attempt in a forest, but let me know if you know of one. Just make sure it's remote, and that people don't usually go there. The area I'm thinking of is in a nice suburban area, I've been in this forest and I couldn't find any signs of people being there. A sign of homeless people is trash, but I couldn't find any pieces of trash anywhere in this place, which gives me assurance. I would feel very comfortable about never being found there if I wanted to. But all I really need is just 36 hours.
Check out this thread:
The police called EVERY hotel in the city to find this guy. Before you choose a spot, you seriously have to consider the lengths people will go to stop you. The police and everyone in your life will MOVE MOUNTAINS to "save" you just in time so you can live the rest of your life out as a vegetable.
Thread of guy getting "saved" from CTB at hotel, and possibly being a vegetable:
Yes, being in a forest probably won't be the most comfortable way to go, but I would gladly sacrifice a little bit of momentary comfort for being extra sure of not failing.
