There is no escaping the burden of existence

If this site is closed we will have no other place to express ourselves. It provides the rare occasion when strangers come together to alleviate common suffering. The only social network where there is no superfluousness, and everyone can be honest without receiving prejudgments. The demand for this site is a symptom of a dystopian society.

Knowledge must be shared no matter what it is. Suppressing information will not prevent suicidal incidents from happening. It must be accepted that the right to self-determination is inalienable. As long as someone is aware of their choice, and carries out a psychometric examination, no one can restrict their freedom. Prohibiting suicide is philosophically unethical.

I admit, not everything is perfect, and I agree that some things can improve. I will give some counterarguments: there is a certain apologetics that preponderates death as the primary solution; the vast majority of assumptions are imbued with a nilist bias; the recovery sector should be more preferential; the selection criteria for new users should be more permissive.

Under the pretext of protecting the vulnerable, political demagogues use moralism and sensationalism to justify censorship. They do not take advantage of the opportunity to connect those who want to die with those who want to help, as their interest is not in "saving lives" as they claim.

I am grateful to the forum for learning the linguistic and conceptual means for my self-discovery. Certainly after coming here I became someone different. The users' life stories exemplify my own pain, and reading them is like therapeutic eye drops in my eyes. (I'm not alone!)

I think we learned a lot from the ol' streamers of the 2010s on what to do when your government wants you to shut down

I just remembered this site from back when I was in middle school. You can still talk suicide there, but apparently you can't discuss methods anymore. That's where I found out about exit bags and it gave me a lot of relief knowing there are relatively peaceful methods available.

It's absurd from our perspective because this site helps us a lot but, from the perspective of those who want to take down this site, it isn't absurd at all... in fact it's beneficial as it means that less people are likely to find information on safer suicide methods which means that there's a higher chance that, instead of the suicidal person killing themselves, they live out of coercion and pay taxes.. which is something that pro lifers want. I hate at how they want this so much but they never cared about our feelings and expressing how this site vanishing will hurt us is something that they would not care about at all... because they don't care about us. They primarily only care that we're alive enough to contribute to society and that's it

What also disturbs me is the alternative. I think they would actually prefer us to maim ourselves using an unreliable and unresearched method. They'd prefer us not to attempt at all of course but, seeing as people still will- they clearly see that as the preferable outcome. (To live possibly handicapped or with debilitating health issues following a failed atrempt.)

I'm not saying it isn't complicated. I do personally believe there should be some gate keeping with regards to easily accessing suicide information. It is effectively assisting a suicide to some degree I suppose.

I do struggle with the prospect of minors and those in a psychotic episode- where I suppose it is possible to do something impulsively having access. That said- a lot of methods require planning. Just how mentally incompetent is someone if they go through the rigmorole of ordering SN for example?

It's difficult to ascertain either age or mental competency on the internet. But then- in my view, assisted suicide should be legalised and available to adults of sound mind. That way, they could control it. Not that it's likely to happen though.

What really gets me though is- fine- they find this place probably too nihilistic and pessimistic. I'm not going to argue with that. Why aren't they providing more nurturing spaces for people to talk openly then? If they give that much of a shit, they ought to be doing that! Ultimately- it's their children most likely at the end of the day they are worrying about. Most of the concern is for youngsters. So- do something then! Provide alternative spaces for them to receive support. But, if they still come here- start asking yourselves why! What truly appals me is the amount of people who do actually seem to want help but can't seem to access it.

Is there a real risk of this site being closed down? There has been talk for a long time but I haven't seen any recently

I think there isn't, the site is protected by some kind of law in America. I wonder if it isn't a supreme law, at that.

If it does get closed, hopefully it reappears as another similar site, possibly with the same/similar UI and messages. That seemed to happen with some other high-value sites, so maybe it'll happen here if it is one of them.

For me, this site has helped me realize so many things about suicide and my own life to some degree. I don't understand the mentality of the people who want this site shut down. Do they just watch the Tantacrul video assuming it represents the site well and do no research whatsoever?

...Like I'd ever be able to figure out how to use a Tor, site? I can't even figure out how to make a donation! ;)
Best wishes, if that's the case. I don't think they care what truly happens to us. Only, how it make s them "FEEL,"
when they think about it... (as a topic of discussion) / So, another 'opportunity,' then - to pass judgement. And
to sit from high upon their thrones. Whereas they express their position from a place of moral superiority. F 'em :)

even if they forcefully shut down SaSu, others like it will pop up. ppl like us need the kind of the community this site offers because conventional pro life crisis support simply isnt what we're looking for. haters can call us pro suicide, dangerous for minors, etc, but i know we'll never give up trying to express ourselves and find ppl who share our values. have fun attempting to silence every one of us...

Wouldn't the First Amendment protect the existence of this site? There is nothing criminal going on here. Besided, I once found an onion link for this website somewhere, so I guess it would still continue to exist on the deep web at least, anyway?

The best way to help suicidal people is to set up a website where they can be found and offered assistance.

Why are they still focusing on the topic of "suicide" while ignoring the members of this website?

It is part of their strategy, and they will continue to ignore suicidal people while profiting from our pain.

even if they close this site, there will be a new site, and if they close that, there will be a new site

it's an endless cycle in my opinion
