I don'nt know if I should throw away the items I dont want my family seeing or what to do with them. Im afraid of a failed attempt and then I don't have some of my things that I use. Ive also been thinking of packing most of my things for them so all they have to do is move it out of my apartment. I want to make it as easy as possible for them.

I took a lot of my clothes to the charity shop as well as the things I don't think my family would want. I still have stuff I need or would want if ctb failed but it's nothing I wouldn't want anyone to see.

could put it in a self storage unit and they would auction your stuff away when they see that you haven't been making payments.

I started binning or selling most of it a year ago , 95% of my clothes and i had a lot of clothes lol , old phone , cameras , games consoles , pc, momentos , board games , vhs tapes , retro video disc player hi fi`s tv` kitchen appliances and extra pots etc and furniture items .4 foot aquarium , tools , bedding towels , you name it i have whittled down to bare minimum and my car has been for sale for a while .
So my house is sparse under the surface but not enough to make anyone suspicious , if they opened cupboards and draws the would see they are all empty and i`ve been a bit of a hoarder /collector for decades
I only have a matter of weeks left before i have to CTB
I`ve made a will leaving house and what's left to my 20 year younger brother who is experienced at sorting legality and funerals out as i left it to do for my older brother when he died out of the blue last year . only difference this time is he will have a payday after it lol
Just the loft alone took some doing

When I was preparing, I threw out everything I don't actually need (like a little clear out), as well as everything I wouldn't want anyone to see. The latter was mainly old diaries and other physical writings. I don't have a lot of stuff to begin with, so I would leave everything else as is. That way my family could easily go through my things if they want to, like if they want to keep something or whatever.

About not having things after a failed attempt: Now that I've decided to wait a little longer to ctb, I do occasionally feel a little stupid for throwing out 4 years worth of diary entries. I think everyone has to find their own peace with that, but personally, it's been quite useful to me in reminding myself that I don't actually need a lot of the things I have. But I suppose it also depends on what the object is, and how sentimental you are about them.
