I am confident I will pass a NICS check, however...

I get that this is me being paranoid, but, they generally don't ever send you any physical mail regarding approval status and whatnot, correct? While I am legally an adult (24), I still have family that would never approve, and they'd probably connect the dots on why I would want to obtain a firearm given my recent bouts of depression.

Just might need some anxiety/paranoia soothing for this process is all, I really don't want to wait much longer to go through with this.

No. You are approved, or disapproved, right on the spot. There is no "follow-up" mail that comes to your house regarding your passing/non-passing of NICS.........however you *may* get advertisements, promotional materials, etc from the store where you purchase the gun (assuming you are buying from a "store").

I have considered going the private route (Mine is a really good state for this bc no CCW required), but it's just that individual people can make huge mistakes and it's less streamlined.

I wasn't intending to infer there's only "store front" or a "private" way to purchase firearms. There are plenty of sellers at gun shows who sell firearms, whom I don't consider private sellers, but it's their business to sell firearms, and they must conduct NICS checks accordingly, but they just don't have store fronts - so they'd be less inclined to mail out promotional material to you I would think. Not all stores send out promo material, anyway. Online stores usually just send out promo emails, or texts, not snailmail mailings because it's just cheaper to send out promos digitally. I've purchased from Cabela's before (in person) and have never received any mailings from them in my mailbox. I do get a lot of emails from them, though.
