I only listen to music when I'm drinking. It's sort of hard to come up with a top 10 band list since I'm very picky. Usually I only like a couple songs from a certain artist.

1. Deftones. Chino's screams are otherworldly, never heard anything like it, and nothing is more cathartic for me when I'm angry, which is most of the time. I'm listening to this track now actually, a good example is around 2:20:
2. Tool. All-around amazing music from these guys, love everything about them)
3. Primus. These guys did the South Park theme, very unique sound. Les Claypool has a funny voice but he utilizes that well, and his bass-playing is insane.
4. Nirvana. Apparently Kurt Cobain used to "joke" about becoming a super famous musician and then killing himself.
5. Rage Against the Machine. Super angry, bass-heavy, and funky.
Ah jeez... I'm trying to only pick artists who I've listened to pretty much all of their stuff and liked almost all of it, to the point that I'll search the internet to find the most obscure tracks and demos. Beyond these guys though it's not
6. Eminem. But mostly only his old stuff up to and including Relapse.
7. Daft Punk. Not sure why I didn't think of them sooner, I actually do enjoy most of their songs.
8. Radiohead.
9. Weird Al. Lol. I loved him so much as a kid and still listen to him from time to time. He actually has some pretty dark tracks that might surprise people who only know him from his biggest hits, though they are still very much silly and would probably only shock the most prudish people.
10. Oh god... I'll say Incubus, even though I really only like a few of their earlier albums.

That was harder than I thought it would be.
