I already know what to do for my situation but the thought of executing it is killing me.

I'm not happy with my relationship. I want to break up with my boyfriend. The issue here is that we share a beautiful flat and have the tenancy until August. We also have a short holiday booked in June. I feel stressed and have to start looking for a flat to buy on my own, in secret, hidden from my boyfriend.

What if I don't get a flat after this? I'll have lost the relationship and my home and I'll feel even more lost.

Feeling horrendous. I go into the flat and don't feel much towards him in an affectionate way. I feel guilty but I can't do much until August. I'm trapped.

I can't really help i'm afraid but i empathize for your issue's and hope that you may find another place to stay soon. I assume staying with family/friends in case shit really hits the fan is not an option? Do you think cancelling the trip would arise questions? I imagine going on a vacation while being in that state of mind isnt helpfull at all and you can probably better use the money for when you seperate and move out.

Is he suspecting anything at all about you probably ending the relationship? Or do you think you would tell him "in time" for him to make his own arrangements? I don't want to be intrusive ... My apologies if i am. Breaking up is always a very difficult subject and have little experience in the matter. I wish you all the best regardless.

I've been in a similar situation and it's horrendous.

My advice is two pronged.
Firstly, think. Have a think about the reasons why things are the way they are between the two of you. Is it him? Is it you? Is it the situation or is it a rut? Try to examine all of the aspects of the situation from your own perspective - not in a selfish way but because only you know your true self.

Secondly, talk to him. It's going to be an unpleasant situation no matter what the outcome is. If you've had a good thing and you're still reaching the same conclusion, explain it to him. Tell him the reasons why and listen to eachother. It'll make it the most harmonious way of doing things, even if there is still some hostility and unpleasantness.

I do hope things become clearer for you, and you feel better about the situation whether that be with your partner or without him.

Keep us updated, and if you want to chat feel free to drop a message.
