I have a revolver cambers for .45 Long Colt that I bought for the express purpose of self terminating. SI has prevented me from pulling the trigger. Also, my plan was to go intea-oral and I'm terrified of missing the sweet spot. However life is about to get considerably worse and overcoming SI and pulling the trigger seems like more of a possibility. I have also contemplated full suspension hanging more recently. I live alone and have a detached garage with excellent support beams that would be ideal to support my full weight. I know I would still have to contend with SI, but I'm getting ever so close to being able to overcome it. I feel like with full suspension hanging there is less margin for error. Which would you choose and why?

I am not arms expert so i wont comment on your arms details, but generally speaking firearms is significantly more reliable and much less suffering than hanging, it is generally the most reliable suicide approach. Its only down side is that it leaves a lot of mess around (i.e blood, fractured brain). Most important thing is to point the gun well (e.g dont point toward your jaw). Which i dont think is difficult if you are not drunk.

If your setup is good and nobody can interrupt you, hanging is 100%.
Firearms are equally successful when aimed correctly. That is your variable.

I have both on my list of 5. Shotgun intra orally is 2. I have more than one handguns so I were to choose handgun I'd use 2, 1 intra orally and 1 behind the ear is 3. Full suspension and drop hanging are tied for 5. Fwiw inert gas and CO are numbers 1 and 4.

This is a fluid list and methods move up and down or even on and off. It started as 2 a long time ago. I've had to increase the number periodically to quiet the voices.

Thank you for your reply! Duely noted.

When you say CO do you mean as a byproduct of charcoal combustion or an actual tank of gas?

I'm really worried about that "variable." I'm afraid I'll miss and end up even more fucked up than I already am. I'm contemplating going out to a nearby lake and wading in up to my waist before I pull the trigger. Worst case scenario I drowned if all doesn't go according to plan.

For my own preference I choose hanging.

Just personally i don't know much about guns and would need to acquire one and learn to shoot. But what eventually pushes guns off my list was how severe potential injuries could be in a failed attempt. Combined with my lack of experience I thought this was too risky.

I lived in a place were getting my hands on a gun wasn't such a painstaking process, it would be my number 1 choice.
