Buying a firearm from someone, giving them money thru paypal/zelle. If I don't pass the background check do I just get fucked and not get to get my money back from the person who shipped it to the FFL?

If you're buying from a reputable dealer, you'll get your money back. But honestly, most of them will not sell you a firearm or take your money without you passing a background check.
If you want a firearm without the background check, you need to buy from under the table or on the darknet

Thank you, and that is fucked. Darknet is mostly scams. If anyone else has more info on this I would love it. It is some guy I met on gunlistings. He is shipping a shotgun for me to an FFL. I am asking I will get the money back from him somehow? Thank you very much.Similar threads
