What's happening, forum?

I've recently been watching a lot of millennials/zoomers watching old, classic films for the first time on YouTube. They commentate over the film, giving their reactions (genuine or not) to what they're seeing. Most of it is kinda bad but some of it is genuinely hilarious and entertaining.

I bring it up here because as someone who is quite lonely and almost near Death, I feel like these people are kinda like my friends and we are watching a movie together and having fun. I don't mean it in a parasocial relationship kinda way, more so a voyeuristic look into genuine human interaction and bonding.

I don't know if you think this is SAD or anything but I would like to know if anyone else does this?

This is my guilty pleasure. I can't tell you how much your post resonates with me. I've always liked watching reaction vids on youtube and especially ones to old classic movies. This time last year I was extremely suicidal and I felt exactly like you, I didn't have anyone to talk to I hadn't made friends on sasu just yet and had nobody. These people watching reactions were like my friends that I could share the experience of watching a moving together or showing a friend a movie for the first time.

Yeah, it creates the illusion of watching films with your own friends. There's a reason those vids are so popular.

I'm glad it resonates with you so much, it makes me feel kinda like a loser but also it's comforting. I can be a sad sack and pretend like I'm cool or sociable.

Well I've seen singers watch amateurs singing their covers... but I wouldn't watch people watching old movies because it sounds depressing and would make me feel old.

What have they watched?
