I am 29 and from the UK, i play PS4 and PC, I am on anti psychotics (olanzapine) i am diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, i find playing games take me into a different world and i can ignore this soul destroying selfish world.

I'm not a "gamer" but I play some games. Funny that I tripped across this actually. I'm playing spintires right now on my laptop lol. I tried olanzapine. All it did was make me sleep. But I got back from the docs today and apparently I'm sensitive to the medication that could help me so I'm on a lower dose then usual of rispridone (the first one I tried). My friend and I talk about games sometimes so I'm starting to have an understanding of them and can kinda hold an intellegent conversation on the subject lol.

Edit: I'll be honest I went with yes somewhat. When I play games it doesn't really "help" so much as it's a temporary distraction.

Im a very hard gamer,i been playing 12 hours dialy for atleast 4 years i am on risperidone as antipsychotic videogames are the only thing that helps me to cope whit suicidal thoughts and depression,sometimes i still have relapses were even playing im less sucidial but is my best option to cope with it

Playing chess helps me a lot. Being focused on every movement and doing my best so not to lose. I play it daily but I still want to die because it doesn't solve my problems, just distracts me.

They used to help but lately nothing takes the edge off. I've just lost enjoyment in things. Used to be an avid WoW player, Final Fantasy, Aion, Counterstrike etc, but haven't touched them in months.

World of warcraft used to be my way out of reality. Been playing since I was like 11 or 12 I think.
Used to love it. Games in general became a distraction for me. They don't do the same for me as they used to...

It just get me into a state of nothingness weird to explain. Man i dont even care for myself anymore because its useless because im litterly one of the ugliest people on the planet. Even for my type of deformity im one of the worst affected in the world so i cant even relate to others with my deformity its fucked.

There's nothing wrong with you champ. There's nothing wrong with your body and the way that you go about life in this world. There is something wrong with the world and that is not your fault. It's hard but dont ever think that you did bad or you are bad or you are less of a soul than the people around you. You still count 100%! ❤

I play games like Skyrim, Minecraft, Genshin Impact and I can say that those games are really distracting

I play a shitload of Final Fantasy XIV. Mostly on PC, sometimes PS4. I have schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type among other things. I take Rexulti, lithium, Prozac, Seroquel. Gaming is my escape and only way to occupy myself. It does help.

I don't know if it helps with mental issues, but gaming's a pretty nice way to pass some time and tune off. I play single- and multiplayer titles. Currently I'm playing Killing Floor 2 and Heroes Of The Storm (multiplayer) and I finished XCOM 2 just yesterday, so I gotta look for a new singleplayer title. Maybe I'll continue Borderlands 3. But yeah, I'm playing daily.

I used to play a ton of MMORPGs like Guild Wars 2, Runes of Magic, LOTR, FFXIV, Aion, Tera, and Rift. A part of many guilds, and leader for some. It gave me confidence that I could be something, but real life dawned on me that after I logged out, I was nothing. So I stopped playing all those and just enjoy single player games. Right now been playing Divinity: Original Sin 2 and enjoy it a lot. I love open-roaming games where I can explore, read the lore, and indiscriminately kill things.
