Turning 21 soon and I still don't have my GED and my drivers license and I still haven't worked at a job, my teeth are still fucked up and I still lack so many basic skills. If you're confused by this, I was basically taken out of school during the 5th grade to become homeschooled and needless to say we never actually ended up doing work and I just played videos games, and here we are, years later and I feel crippled. I want those things but I just can't bring myself to do them, it sounds so exhausting but at the same time exciting. Maybe life just isn't meant for me if I can't get to the basic level that majority of other humans are at.

It sounds like there is still hope for you, though. It's a matter of taking steps that can help and also getting encouragement from other people. What do you think would be a good next step for you- a job or getting your GED or ? If you had a job where co-workers wer nice to you maybe this would help give you energy to do other things.

Honestly I'm not even sure, I've just been procrastinating both to be honest. I do want to do them, but I'll probably just focus on my license currently since I do want that freedom to drive around and such. And also thank you <3 I appreciate you trying to help.

I sounds like you see yourself as an outsider to a social world that you may envy. Often those who feel outside exaggerate what they feel to be the "normal" life they missed out on so much that they feel envious. It may be that over half of the people feel themselves to be "outside" Much of this may be the result of TV and movies that portray the world in a distorted way.

It is possible that we can come to a point of lamenting the growing distance between our life and a sort of imaginary utopia that only exists in the mind of a Hollywood writer.

You may want to invest some time in giving yourself credit for what you have already achieved. It sounds like you have avoided becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol, you can read and write, you should be able to get a job. These things put you way ahead of many.

If you focus more on what you have done and can do, it may help reduce feelings of what was missed.

I definitely agree with what you're saying and I used to get caught up in that fairytale land but I know half of it isn't true, my whole point is I just want to be at a level that everyone else is at because it gives you so many opportunities, like having a license will allow me to drive myself to get food, to get items so that I don't have to rely on the people who are the reason why I'm in this state, and having a diploma of some sort will allow me to get low entry jobs so that I can start buying myself stuff, and making friends in a work environment, and also not only that but just being educated period will be really nice. And I do envy people that got to go through school to develop social skills and stuff, I don't know if that'll ever go away, but thank you I wasn't thinking about the things I've done, and I've done a lot of mental work over the past 2 years.
