When did you realise you are not like other people ? More and more i feel like an outsider.

As time has gone on i realise i dont think like most people in my age group or a racial group( brown female ).

My views tend to be within the minority. I have been following the riots in the USA following george floyd death

I agree the protesters have every right to be angry because too many black men have died before thier time due to police brutality. The charge of 3rs degree against the police officer is not sutiable. If you put your knee on someones neck for long time it is foreseeable harm will occur. The man told the officer he cant breathe . The police man knew what he was doing that was no accident

However people i see online are defending the looting and talk of revolution

I disagree because people who live the area that is looted they are the ones who will have to live with the long term economic damage to thier community.

People talk of getting rid of racism and how we must fight to get rid of racism. I believe you cant get rid of racism
Racism is a hatred for your fellow human being.
Only in a perfect world there is no racism and no suffering.
This world we live in is not perfect and humans are flawed creatures so things like racism will exist and many other evils in this world too will always exist
I believe we can create a better world than one we have now .

It is not only what is going on america right now that has made realise my opinions are in the minority

I am in the minority view in other things
- We are always told by politicans and sections of the media the old have ruined youngs future. I diagree as future can be what we make it. I hate this war of boomer v milinal . Every generation has it own problems.
- people my age vote for big goverment parties but i want less goverment .

I feel like an outsider most of the time due to the way i think

Any one ever felt this way ?

I have felt like an outsider by the way I think too. I believe in God, and I believe in keeping the ten commandments. I agree with what you've said about everything that's going on in America.

As a racial minority myself, I know too well the effects that racism and discrimination can have on your mental health. I am glad for the riots and the outrage from both sides. The world is beyond saving anyway. I have no sympathy anymore and hope we go extinct.

I know it's awful but part of me was hoping that Covid 19 would be our extinction event. Or at least that climate change would hurry the fuck up already and destroy us all.

I feel like an outsider too. I just don't fit into society. Mainly I don't experience relationships the way others do and it makes me feel like a freak. I rarely connect with people and the couple of times I have, it's been intense. People can't handle that and ultimately it leads to abandonment. Unfortunately I can't abandon myself unless I ctb, which is hard to do considering feeling trapped by the survival instinct.
And I like your views about the looting! Very true.

I'm the opposite of a minority - a white young female, but I do understand what you're talking about. For me - someone who lives in a different country to where I was born - it is impossible to understand why someone would have racial bias over another person. I have worked with people from 20+ different countries and never have I judged them based on the colour of their skin or the country they were born in.
Everything going on in the USA is so wild I literally can't even imagine living there following Trump's rules.
And I completely agree that looting is horrible. It's not a good way to get the message across.

Just remember that your views don't reflect the views of other people of the same gender/race etc. Your opinion is just as important as anyone else's in the world xxx

@InTheAirTonight I am racial minority too. I was born in the UK and am of african descent through my parents.
What racial group are you in?

I dream of a world in which there is no race and we are free to be what we want to be.
I still have that dream and hope.

No i have not seen the film firefox what is it about?

I dont fit in either with relationships too. I dont understnand how to behave in a relationship as i never experienced one.
I am not afraid to complient a guy but people tell me i should not.

Teenage years are nornally characteriser by having a boyfriend, friends and going parties as well as exams
I never had a boyfriend in my teens or in university. I never had any close friends at school and was sheltered throught my teens.

I just dont conform really.

I've always been an outsider even within my own race, I'm black btw. I have very dark skin, compared to my siblings with much lighter skin so it started with that. At school going to a mostly black school, they tried to teach us about America's history of racism in history, but it did not leave me feeling empowered. I can recall being in class, and we're watching a video of people talking about how you shouldn't be darker than the color of a paper bag, and how girls with dark skin always tried ways of lightening and bleaching their skin. Many of my classmates, all minorities, would sneak looks at me probably wondering if I ever considered it since I did have the darkest skin in the classroom.
When I got to the age of driving, I was pulled over multiple times while for no reason. I'm sure it's because they could see a dark skin person in the driver's seat. When they'd come to flash the light they saw a bunch of gay kids, and would always let us go even when some of my friends weren't so innocent. And it has crossed my mind that I could die by the hand of a police officer rather than it be my own choice.
My older brother is 37, and my mother has said many times over it's a miracle he isn't dead just because of how he looks. She was sure either some gang member would kill him or the police would.

The protesters have every right because just sentencing one man will do nothing. That just tells other officers not to get caught. That does nothing to change or prevent it from happening which is why it keeps happening. It's ridiculous that with people shouting, none of the other officers thought to say "Let's put him in the car."

People are quick to lump in the protesters with those looting and causing unnecessary violence and miss the entire point. Some of these people are there to take advantage of the situation. There have even been videos of police breaking things, of things that were obviously staged, and of people that were there not to for the cause but to just get people that were already angry more riled up.

These are two different groups of people, and not while some protesters condone it, most of them don't. Just like not all cops are bad just because of a few of them.

Two weeks ago we had people protesting with guns refusing to stay inside their own homes for the safety of others. Somehow police were able to refrain from arresting or harming these people. However, you will find lots of videos of police firing on unarmed citizens and news crews when they were completely unprovoked and had no reason to feel threatened.

Also, I'll attach an image of what people want to end police brutality which goes much further than just arresting officers that kill it's citizens because blacks might be the majority when it comes to being the receiving end, but people of different races and people with mental illness have been victims too.
