Looks like I'm never going there again. I had an appointment 2hrs ago and I didn't go. There's just too much anxiety I cant. The appointment was to get tests done too including the one to find the right medication for me.

if you can muster up the motivation to go at some point since they're testing for medications it might be very beneficial to you.

Sometimes if you just tell the doctor or nurses what you're worried about or if you tend to freak out at doctors offices they will try to work with you. Not always but if it's for important tests it's worth a shot (I hate going to the doctor and my doctor knows this)

It doesn't work this way. One of the tests I need done is to see if I have any brain damage from beating my head off things. Another one is for an MRI because they are suppose to show what mental disorders you have another one is for my chest pain because I don't breath normally and the last one I can currently remember is suppose to tell me what medication is right for me as I am sensitive to antipshychotics and I need some sort of medication for my mental disorders. I NEED these tests. (I originally had 1 example but I added the rest so if I forget I can refer back to this lol)

Yeah it's cool. It's just I have 3 different things causing anxiety and I just can't do it. If it was just normal doc jitters then that would be one thing

hey its perfectly fine. I mean i don't think i would be totally fine with going to have tests to do with what you have to either. But you obviousley realise they are important that is a good start. Could someone go with you to support you? are you scared by it and this causes anxiety?

We have the original doc jitters (my legs do the nervous shake thing). There was a test I did in the past that made me extremely uncomfortable (it was a normal test but because of previous things that have nothing to do with the situation. Just the kinda of test it was). And I have to wear a mask which causes it's own anxiety issues as I've EXTREMELY self conscious. I just can't go there's way too much anxiety. (I might be forgetting something but I don't THINK so)

Is your schedule flexible?

How about you make a deal with the person who schedules appointments and explain to them that you could be available on call for any last minute cancellation.

Suggest that they call you on any given day when someone cancels an appointment and then you can determine the level of anxiety you have at that moment in time and decide if you could make it in for that day?

Doesn't sound like the nicest of tests to be honest, so not surprised you get a bit anxious. I don't think most people like going for any sort of tests, especially if its to do with something serious. I think sometimes what doctor or nurse you get can also be a massive part of how comfortable we are in these situations. can't say i'm a massive fan of being poked and prodded, taking my clothes off in front of a complete stranger!!!!

If you're entering the Tube of Truth aka the shitty imaging tube things it's normal to hate it and it sounds like you have other shitty tests to go through...idk if it's appropriate for your situation but sometimes they can give you something to make it better for the tests. They sound really unpleasant but important. For really nasty tests sometimes they can do extra stuff to make you uhhhh less aware for them, but again I don't know the specifics and that's up to the doc. Maybe they could try to schedule around your anxiety. Either way they may be able to work with you. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

I'd tell doc about your anxiety in regards to the tests. The one to find out what meds will work I would try to get done for sure. If it's like one I had a while ago to see what would work for pain meds or what I was more sensitive to it was just blood work.
