The US government admitted it has a fake special access program for UAP's/UFO's.
Secret fake special access programs. Super secret programs are called special access programs. Then there's a further category called unacknowledged special access programs or USAP. Which is you can know that a special access program exists like maybe warhead recovery might be a known one. But there might be an unacknowledged special access program for theft of foreign nuclear warheads. It's not on the books, only the super secret law makers, the gang of 8 or whatever it is can know what that is. And then there are further designations of secrecy. You have waves and bigot. It has its own language.
Normandy's D-Day Invasion was Operation Overlord. The US had a fake invasion planned for Norway called Operation Fortitude which was part of Operation Bodyguard which was total deception. So they planted plans for the invasion of Norway in dead bodies that would wash up on beaches so that Germans would find them. The US government fakes stuff all the time. Covert influence operations. What if you saw the B-21 bomber and they weren't ready to say it existed. Whats more, what if we convinced China or Russia or Iran that we had incredible powers that they don't have, then they would be very reluctant to strike. Or they waste a tremendous amount of money developing anti-gravity technology when there is no such thing. Plenty of good reasons to fake things.
Disinformation is a powerful tool.
It would be crazy to do physics in an open university environment for national security reasons. So they've taken precautions. The US has a system of national laboratories which are effectively our secret university system where you have to be an American. For nuclear-weapons related work. Also for some cryptography work, and probably some others. The Department of Energy is really the Department of Physics which is really the Department of Nuclear Weapons Management.
