Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

If I understand what was said at your link, the thesis is the explanation for all the bad news we hear is that it is symptomatic of the human race on a path to extinction.

An alternative explanation could be the Christian one, that there is something defective in human nature (sin) that cannot be ignored. However, rather than a hopeless path to extinction, we have the option (as individuals) not in collective effort (like governmental compulsion) but in being rescued and given eternal life by a God who gave us free will and desires we would use it to choose him over our own selfishness that leads to our own destruction.

I understand that many not only do not accept Christianity, but recoil from any mention of it. In addition many people calling themselves Christian over centuries has given it a pretty bad reputation. However, as an explanation why the world seems headed down the drain, it could be given consideration.
