I am extremely depressed the month is ending as it reminds me how long i have been unemployed for since graduting university. It is now 11 months sicne i graduated.
The cv gap is too big and it is now too late for me to establish a career
Covid 19 i can forgert ever having a job.
Month after month it just gets harder and harder.

It is not that but i feel like i have achieved this may. I feel so disappointed in my self

Don't be so hard on yourself, this is a hard time for everyone looking for jobs. What is your degree in?

Covid 19 effect on economy is ending and will end eventually. I also got first job like a year after graduating. CV gap that close to education isnt that bad, a lot of graduates struggle at that time. I have 3 year gap in CV after first job and it is terrible when job hunting. I think i have to lie at this point and fill it with bullshit to increase my chances. Maybe look for some internship or ask in family if they know someone who can refer you for a job.

Oh dear, you are still down in the dumps with your unemployment situation, and this fucking covid shit:mmm: yea it sucks so bad! Especially in the morning all those memories come flooding in... I have my SN handy and growing impatient really... The only reason i wait cos im stuck in the house with other ppl inculuding 2 of my nephews - dont wanna traumatize little fuckers... But thats where COvid comes in - i cant die where i want! Fuck this shit i might eat all 2kg of SN dry one of these days and let them find my blue carcass:))

As you mention with the CoVid crisis the entire film industry shut down and is barely beginning to function again (how the hell they expect a film crew working on location to social distance is utterly beyond me...). The last job I worked was at the very beginning of the lockdown and I haven't worked since then, the added problem is that when the industry begins to pick up again, there will be just a small handful of jobs and thousands of out of work crew jostling for each one...

The solution I came up with for me was that in order to get work, I'll have to create some work... But for you (not knowing what your skills are), perhaps you could d some voluntary work instead. You've not long graduated, so you can easily explain the gap on your CV as being a kind of 'gap year' - you went travelling, exploring or whatever, soul searching, made ends meet doing favours and learning employable life skills that can't be taught like teamwork, communication etc.

If you've got some voluntary work on your CV recently then I doubt that anybody would even question why there was a gap, I guess the trick is to construe the gap in employment as being 'by choice'. There is a slight ethical issue with lying on your CV, I don't advocate that - but if you're being true to the spirit of things then I don't see an issue. It's little different to not ticking the "I have a disability" box so that you don't get unconsciously discriminated against because of mental health.

Just wanted to chime in to say that there is absolutely no ethical issue with lying in your CV. The real issue is making sure not to get caught.

Covid is going to screw up so many people's career trajectory. I hope I'm wrong, but in five years time, I would think most people will have a ding or two on their CV. Now may be a good time to find some additional training online.
