I don't believe in heaven or anything religious. Most likely nothing happens. You just switch off. On the slim to none chance there's something after I hope I get to go to my favourite fictional universe and live with the character I've been madly in love with for years. If I knew that was gonna happen I'd off myself right now no questions asked haha!
And yes, when my health is very bad I do actually want to die. Just afraid of failing.

There is no evidence of any 'heaven' existing after this. I believe in eternal nothingness. I do not agree with the quote as I certainly do want to die. Non existence is the absence of suffering and only then nothing can hurt me.

Funnily enough I think the opposite. From what I read online, it seems that there is an afterlife but whether it's heaven/hell or reincarnation is undecided. However, I feel terrible about this as I actually wanted there to be nothing after death; An afterlife is just annoying and being born in this planet as a starving african child or afghan woman would be hell, I would rather be unconscious forever

I guess I don't know what you've been reading online but the hard science heavily suggests that there is no afterlife.

Even if there is a heaven, I don't particularly want to go there after death. If I still have to exist, it isn't a paradise. Fading from existence seems like the most preferable outcome.

Tbh fuck heaven. It's just something the living hope exists to allow them to continue living (just my opinion, I do think it can exist for those who want it to). No. Thank. You.

It'd be awesome if there was a heaven. I'd love to put my feet back, listen to good music and enjoy ice-cold mojitos on a beach for all eternity.

But according to the Bible in heaven you do not hunger, you do not thirst, and God wipes away all your tears.

So I'm guessing there's no mojitos… Bummer.

Yea I agree, like I said before. Whatever there is after-death doesnt matter because I was going to see it regardless of me dying now or 50+ years in the future

Do the marines use this quote to encourage them? "To give death and to take death" or "Dogs, do you want to live forever?" would fit better.

Seriously, most people don´t want to go to heaven at all, they just want to live forever and want to be forever young.

I believe in reincarnation.

I believe we were created by beings, far superior to us.

We were put on this earth to run the test, to endure whatever is thrown at us. Be that good, or bad.

We are being studied, as a whole, and they are building a better world.

They observe how evil one person can be to another, and they want to eradicate that.

I believe that those of us who have suffered most during this life cycle, will be rewarded in the next.

I have been told that my beliefs are delusional, but I feel so strongly that this is true.

We are all on a journey, and I am looking forward to the next phase of mine.

That's why I have limited fear of "death." Yes, the body perishes, but the soul moves on, into its next form.

Am I delusional for believing in this, so strongly?

I'm sure there are others who think along these lines. Are we special, in some way? Have we already reincarnated, and have some remaining subliminal memories of our previous journey?

I don't know.

All I know is that I truly believe in this, and it is the reason I have attempted so many times.

To be fair, in hell you are in burning lava forever and you cannot die meaning you'll be in 24/7 pain forever
A lot of us are too much of a pussy to slit our throat to end it, imagine having your sensitive bits scrapped with razors then be boiled alive. My brain doesnt really think of the future so I am not scared but whenever I see people bragging about heaven sucking and hell being cool, I just facepalm

Seems a bit funny reading this because here we are on a forum where presumably people are interested in no longer being alive. And I do believe that many of us actually would sincerely like to die - whether it's painful or not is another issue. And of course many of us don't really believe there is a God or a heaven in the biblical sense. I certainly don't. Still, it would be insincere to say that the process of entering a permanent state of non being isn't intimidating but if this quote is supposed to strike fear in our hearts for committing some kind of supposed "sin" from committing suicide, then I would say that's probably just programming from religious entities who decided at some point that human life is more important than anything else.

The whole "pain and suffering - fire/ice/whatever" version of hell was invented to scared uneducated people into follow a set of rules and donating money. Sad that it still works to this day... That really deserves a facepalm.

Hell is actually defined as the absence of god, or a place untouched by god
Pope John Paul II commented: "images of hell that Sacred Scripture presents to us must be correctly interpreted. They show the complete frustration and emptiness of life without God. Rather than a place, hell indicates the state of those who freely and definitively separate themselves from God, the source of all life and joy."

So since I'm an atheist, my life is already without god, and yet is not empty or frustrating. Since I deny the existence of god, if there is a hell that's where I'm going. Also, anyone who commits suicide is going to hell too.

So please grow up and stop trying to push your bs beliefs on others here.

I never said it's real, I said if it is real then it isn't a pleasant place like you said it was before "Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven :)".
Also if the biblical God is real (I'm not saying he is, just if he was) and hell is just 'absence of God' then why be afraid of him (other than what he can do to you in this Earthly life), even if you do the worst things you can think of you wont be punished for it after death so what's the point of being religious or anything?
Also according to Christianity and Islam, after death you don't go to heaven or hell straight away rather you're in 'eternal' sleep until Jesus returns and you'll be judged and if you're 'good' you to heaven but if you're bad you go to hell. It says this in revelations where it mentions lake of fire and brimstone

Ha.

No kidding.

Well, maybe they do and they don't. If I shift perspective… I think "heaven" is a peaceful place within this existence and it is beautiful, it's seeing that beauty but without unnecessary criticism, nitpicking, insults, and complications that make living seemingly impossible. It's not "selectively listening" for triggers or to trigger someone intentionally out of spite.

You are correct that people all want "heaven" but none want to die. Proves to be true for people who hang on to life until the very bitter end. And is that a good thing? It "can" be but you know. It's also very evil and selfish when people use age as a superiority complex. Or when people "listen" but refuse to acknowledge or comply with basic decency and respect.

It's also hard when someone like myself sees all of the lost potential and bad behavior of little fuck face shit disturbers that want to make things as difficult as possible for a person.

Not okay.

Not okay at all.

People "listen" and refuse to respect and then people say, respect yourself… well, we all tried that and no matter what it didn't change the behavior of those around us.

And you know. It will go on forever…

People don't "believe" someone who tells the truth and nothing but. Because people lie so much, that creates a huge problem.

You can be honest and still be repeatedly fucked with for any reason or no reason at all.

Society needs better role models.

Instead of stomping our self esteem into the ground and ripping our lives away, we should be building people up. But at the same time, some just sink. Some say, swim. Tried that one too. Tried everything and nothing gets better with "master manipulators", "thieves," and "stalkers" and "creeps." People who "escalate" beyond a reasonable person and then refuse to stop when they're told to stop.
Back to square one.

Not a fun cycle to attempt to "break" - everyone thinks they are special but they aren't. And some people lie and pretend like they're doing some sort of good deed by interfering and all it does is cause more harm.

So many reasons.
