  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

it has been brought to my attention especially lately that many people are trying to spread suicide awareness and stuff in my school and work. sounds good, right? wrong. i never thought it would be this way, but today at school a guest speaker came in to talk to us about suicide. i was naive, and expected it to be something genuinely helpful to the class, teaching people how to help their friends out of a suicidal crisis. you know what the first words that came out of the guest speakers mouth was? they said, and i quote: "if you or somebody you know is feeling suicidal, call 911 or 988 immediately and alert authorities of the situation. mental hospitals are meant to treat these people, not you." and that set me off hella. i dont see how anyone could be this fucking ignorant and rude to someone's situation. i have DIAGNOSED PTSD from mental hospitals that i was sent to due to people following these instructions. and on top of that, i live in the US, so i am forced into the mental hospital against my will by authorities because i'm "not thinking straight" after having spent MONTHS planning my suicide. and then to make it even worse, they force you to pay for the healthcare you never asked for, so i am now drowning in medical debt, and due to new restrictions on medicaid, i cannot get it paid for with insurance. these people are just as braindead as the government. and please for the love of god, if your friend is struggling and you really do not want them to die, the best POSSIBLE thing you could do, is talk to them, let them vent, show that you care and love them, and help them yourself. authorities will not help in 99% of cases, they will make it 10x worse and ruin the persons mental health even more. sometimes all a suicidal person needs to hear is that someone loves them, that someone cares for them, from that person themself. do not be fooled by "we're here to spread suicide awareness" and "our hotline is open to help you during a suicide crisis 24/7". it is all a scam. it hurts sooo many people. and the person would be better off without the medical treatment from mental hospitals. if you live in a country where the healthcare is good, maybe, although thats still sometimes an issue. but in america, sending someone to the mental hospital is probably the worst way you could ever try to help someone.
