If there was the option to be euthanised it could had prevented so much futile, unnecessary suffering in this dreadful, torturous existence and the fact that it's not an option is just horrific extreme cruelty to me, there needs to be the option of a painless guaranteed death in this reality where there is no limit as to how much agony one can feel, there is no compassion towards suffering humans with the suffering and torture of existing seen as to force and prolong no matter what, it's all so terrible.

Yeah I completely agree. People seem to think that suicidal people are just "not in their right mind" and that "it all gets better". But they just don't understand that depression or other mental issues are pathologies that can be permanent. And regardless, we should be able to do what we want with our own bodies. If we don't own our own bodies, then who does?

Some are even against euthanasia for the terminally Ill, E.g. Stage 4 cancer. I will never understand that.

Usually there reasons are to do with religion or extremely uptight moral values regarding suicide.

So ready for that option

Fanatics of life. Life is the only thing you have, they say. Even if a vegetable man lives, there is no euthanasia. Let him suffer. They're cruel and selfish.

Agreed. We have MAID here in Canada but unfortunately mental illness doesn't qualify, but apparently that's changing in 2027. Too far away for me

Lucky guys...

But I feel you, in terms of 2027 being too far away, if you wish to die much sooner than that.

I just saw a documentary about some young guy from Canada who had some mental condition that caused him enormous physical pain. I forget what his name is, but apparently his case is very well known. He ended up CTB in a hotel room, but they didn't say how.

His name was Adam Maier-Clayton. His story was beyond heartbreaking. He was a young super fit guy who had a crazy neurological illness. This was back in 2017 and he was able to get his hands on some drugs but i don't know what. I have a hunch that is was N.

I went back and did some reading on it. You might be right about it being N. Watching that documentary was gut wrenching. Life can be so fucked up.

Tbf in the case of the assisted dying bill I'm the UK people tend to be against die to fears based on how the government acts it will have safeguards removed and disabled people will have assistance halted to push them towards it, its what happened in Canada, you can't trust any government to not see an opportunity to save money

Yes, you are right. Euthanasia is available to very few of us and that is sad. I would have gladly undergone the procedure of euthanasia many years ago, but instead I continue to suffer day after day 🥺
