Discussion Ethical dilemma

I know this will cause harm, but it's better to minimize harm as much as possible:

Method: hanging

is it better to do it in:

• my bedroom and let my family discover it directly and be traumatized but without the drama part pf searching…

Or

• my late grandmother's abandoned house and somehow make sure the police are the ones who find my body first, so my family suffers less when I'm gone but at the same time they will be worried about me while looking for me...

The problem is: how can I inform the police beforehand and be certain they're the first to enter?

Ps: it's my first suicidal attempt they don't even know I'm suicidal

I'm genuinely torn.

Hey, sorry life brought you to this.. if you're sure about ctb then minimizing pain for family would probably be for the best. I've seen some users here discuss how you can schedule an email to the police. For example for half an hour after hanging yourself (they also take time to get there). It's good to then leave a note with identifying information and your family's contact information.

I personally use gmail, there's a little arrow next to the "send" button and if you click on it the "schedule send" will pop up, and then just adjust for time. You can also look up how to do it if you use a different platform.

Unfortunately, I live in Algeria, police here don't use e-mails as a means of communication with public.

So the only option is phone calls

Then I guess your options are:
- call yourself, pretend to be some bystander and say someone hung themselves at x place. Hang up as quickly as possible and ctb.
- Maybe pre record yourself, saying the information. Have it play on loop and while it plays you ctb
- Eventually you could have someone call for you but that's risky and unreliable. I also don't know if that person could be charged with "assisting" in a way...
- is your grandmothers house in a remote area? If not you could also hang a note on the door and say someone is dead inside, and to call the police. Then hopefully someone else will read it.

All are quite difficult, I wish you the best in whatever you decide..
