Hello!

Has anyone had any experience with EFT? And if so did it help?
Which is emotional freedom technique.

My therapist wants to use it to help with my PTSD.

Also known as tapping.

It's where you recall your trauma whilst tapping the meridian points of your body. Or just anxiety in general.

Had some experience on that years ago.
I can't really tell its helped me,but I did felt something, I assume it was Placebo

Besides that method there is TAT and im pretty sure there is more

Honestly as a person who only tried Alternative Medicine I wish for a regular treatment with a Psychiatrist



There is a lot of torrents of books and courses about that method in "the pirate bay" And in the past there was in "demonoid"

yeah heard of it... Even tried a few times to be free from negative emotions... I guess I need something more radical to free myself, if you know what i mean

I did try that a long time ago . Maybe it helped maybe not. I was open to it though and maybe that was why it meant something.

Yes, as kooky as tapping seems, I've been giving it a shot for the last few weeks. I can say I've definitely noticed subtle changes, but nothing miraculous (like a lot of those stories out there). It seems to be super commonly effective for PTSD, so why not try it?

That's exactly my thinking. I'm happy to try anything, even things that aren't mainstream. Never know what might help!

I've used and still use both EFT and TAT. Personally, I find TAT more helpful, but EFT was good, too. I find things start to gently let go, and eventually I might even realize that something is no longer bothering me that used to.

When I mentioned on a previous thread of yours that I wish your therapist would give you trauma-focused techniques to take off some of the charge without having to talk about the trauma, these are two techniques I was thinking of.

Something I think that's important with both the techniques is that the feelings/physical sensations are getting some attention, and sometimes that's what they want, just to be noticed and acknowledged, even if they're not yet understood.

Just wanted to add a few things about that method.
EFT, TAT and others based on two parts-
The first is tapping/pressing on meridian points- the existence of meridian energy in the body never have been proven.
The second is saying a statement 3 times, and feel those feelings, now that's has been proven and it can help but up to a point, most of louise hay books based on the assumption of the power of statements, in meditation is extremely important to allow yourself feel everything.

A lot of the research who search after EFT claim that the meridian has no effect on the method and the only part that helped is the feeling part, some says it a Placebo.

If you believe in the meridian system, I think the best thing to do is to go back tp the original- Yoga, Tai chi, Qigong, reflexology.

I can say that Qigong absolutely helped me, It was years ago and I was able to do only the first exercise, but I felt so good after for days, it's easier than other methods (to my opinion)

I think my school therapist had me try it out once during a session, all I was thinking during it was "The fuck is the point of this?" And felt no better after. Not trying to bring down the mood but that was my experience with EFT.
