How about using an electric knife to sever an artery once it's been more or less located?
Is it too difficult to cut where's needed?

The appeal of this is you don't have to exert force to cut yourself which very hard normally. With this you just have to push it towards you.

I think a electric circular saw works better and faster. but in both ways it would hurt and make a mess. you would probably stop before you get deep enough :notsure:

Thats a whole more painful isn't it? The saw just cuts a huge chunk of meat while the knife range of action is more specific

your method and mine is close related so I would recommend reading this https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/suicide-by-electric-saw.14398/#post-290991

In regards to pain, yes it is true that when your body sees a blade and knows it will do a lot of damage, the SI will kick in and you may be trying to dodge the blade so my recommendation is if there is something to tie yourself down or numb yourself such that you won't feel as much pain, then it might be easier to get the blade to cut through vital veins and then die of blood loss and shock. Then again, personally, I don't believe I'd go through that method since it's not instant and I have very low pain tolerance.

That's going to be such a horrid mess. The pain will surely be unbearable and won't it go on for some time as you bleed. Sounds so awful

Yeah of course. But I imagine the most painful would be when you first cut. Afterwards its less pain. Like when cutting

Having accidentally stuck my finger in the ultimate circular saw --a tablesaw-- as well as having the tip of my finger mutilated by a drill press, I can promise you that the instinctive flinch response sparked by sudden onset of pain caused by a noisy "predator" is truly astonishing.

My guess is that anyone attempting suicide by any method involving handheld power tools gnawing their way into flesh will soon discover that not only is it gruesomely messy, unspeakably painful, and ultimately ineffective, but it will reveal just how strong survival instinct can be.

Far be it from me to tell someone they can't try something, but as a long-time power tool user, I suspect there are many, many better ways to end your life. Of all the many methods I have at hand, I do not list my power tools among them.

Yeah I completely agree with you. I can tell it's one of the hardest methods to will yourself to do. The effectiveness and irreversibility of rapid blood loss really attarcts me but there is indeed big barriers to be overcome in order to reach that point. Thanks guys
