This is bullshit, why does it have to cost an arm and a leg and require 20 steps just to off yourself? I'm broke and ready to go now. Anybody have any suggestions.

I believe the tourniquet method is affordable enough, you could do it with a scarf and a pencil. The main problem is your survival instinct, not compressing the carotid artery, not doing it fast enough or there's a chance of it unwinding (though I think this is pretty rare)

Fuck my goddamn survival instinct. I guess I'm just meant to be alive and miserable. I want to die in my sleep but that apparently involves drug smuggling. I'm just not well connected enough. I could get a gun (preferred method) but I don't have the money and apparently I need to hit the brain stem which is harder than I think.

Just be seen with a gun out by a citizen, they will call police, then aim gun at police officer? I don't know. Just an idea.
Seems like they could over power me before the cops are called. I'm a 5'6" female, not exactly that intimidating.

Maybe directly threatening an armed officer? I don't know, they could just resort to a non-lethal way to subdue you rather than going straight to shooting. It seems like a lot is down to chance though I do remember a case where someone succeeded with suicide by cop, I believe he pretended to have a bomb and attempted to hit one of the officers with a crowbar or something similar and they opened fire on him

Okay people, Suicide-By-Cop comes up way, way too frequently here. And it needs to stop being considered as a viable method.
If you want or need to take your own life, that's your choice. Coercing or deceiving someone to kill you because you don't have the strength to do it yourself is not only an appallingly shitty and damaging thing to do to another human being (believe it or not, cops are human beings with the full spectrum of human emotions), it is profoundly immoral and utterly unacceptable.
So take that option off the table.
Besides, since it is arguably murder, it's borderline against the forum rules to discuss it.

You be amazed down here how often police love to shoot people. Just walking outside in a non-threatening manner while holding a weapon will get you a quick bullet to the head.

Granted, I rather go out on my own than have a cop do it. But only when I'm cornered by them, and instead of surrendering and going to jail or the hospital (my life already over at that point, just takes longer to die).

Sorry, didn't mean to come across as endorsing the method, was just trying to give the OP more insight to it, I really should've added what you mentioned about the involvement of a third party and how damaging it would be for them since you're 100% correct. I'll be more careful with my posts if any similar topic comes up in the future
