I want to preface this by saying that the purpose of this is NOT to make other members support the George Floyd protests and BLM movement. No one comes to this site for politics and I'm not intending to start a political debate nor do I judge anyone here for having a different opinion than myself.
That said, the protests going on right now would honestly be one of the most perfect "accidental" ways to die, if you support the movement. I could easily "accidently" instigate a fight with the police, which results in my "unfortunate" death. Part of why I have yet to CTB is the effect it would have on my family, and the simple fact that I don't want them to remember me as someone who struggled with her life. But if someone were to die protesting for a cause... my family would have someone to blame. They would remember me as someone who was passionate for the rights of others, and could vent their frustrations at the police for cruelly taking away my life, while never knowing what was really going on in my head. A bonus for making a final statment for something I believe in.
Death by police isn't a new concept, but the political climate here in America right now (especially where I live... it's a big, liberal city) is the perfect storm for this method.
I don't want to go in this way (I'd be too scared lol), but the thought keeps coming in my head.
What do you all think about this idea?

I dont know how cruel can be the police in USA to kill a person just for protesting. You would need to provoke them alot and you can end up just being hard bitten up and in jail or even more at the hospital with big traumas

That's exactly why I wouldn't do anything like this, it's too risky. Still, if it worked out, I feel like it would be quite a way to go.

I think it's called suicide by cop when you try to provoke the police to kill you. However, there's no guarantee that the police will kill you. There have been instances of jihadists who hoped to go to paradise but had their fingers shot off by the police when they were holding knives or guns.

I think it is caused that as well.
I don't think it's the best method, and I'm not necessarily trying to encourage it, but for anyone who has decided to go this route right now would be the perfect time because of all the tension.
That's some good aim on the cops' part... just getting the hand and nothing else.

I don't think it's a good method at all. You'd have to be really intimidating for them to use a good amount of force, but at the same time kinda fragile. So, let's say you're 6ft black dude with a heart condition or asthma problems then it might be a possible way to die. Also, I think you'd have to be in the right part of the country, where cops still aren't exercising restraint nor being asked to. There are videos of cops still using too much force, but other cops are aware and willing to pull them off.

I'm black, I've gotten pulled over tons of time since I could first start to drive, however, I don't think any cop has ever found me intimidating nor what they expected when they pulled me over. There were tons of times where we were underage and drinking, but when they looked in the car and found a car of flaming homos they often just let us go lol.

The only other way I can think of is if you look like you're armed without actually being armed. Had a cousin who's the same size as me, So like 5'5 and less than 120lbs. The police thought he was running and had a gun and shot him down. They didn't find the gun, but said he ditched it without them seeing along the way. In addition, the cops are aware of this tension, and most of the outrage is coming from the citizens. I think you'd have a better chance if the police the area where upset and would be increasingly violent over a recent cops death.

With each reply I'm learning more and more about what a bad idea this is lol. Maybe I should have thought about it a bit more before I posted it.

Jeez I'm sorry about that. It's so easy do die when you want to live, but so hard when you actually want to die.

So true. It is like life is saying: Wanna die? No you cannot. Wanna live? To bad you die.

Friendly reminder.. No matter what side you're on, you're a member of this forum... The police in the US have been the enemy of humans with mental health issues for a long time. Fuck the cops. Don't ever call them or talk to them without a lawyer. If someone calls the cops on you, treat that person as if they just tried murdering you.

All the logicstical challenges aside...

I'm normally against suicide by cop as it's forced murder, and cops are human and get PTSD, too. I saw a video of a state trooper who overreacted and shot a motorist whose girlfriend was in the passenger seat. Everyone was freaking out, including the cop. That's bad training, and it seems to me that bad training has been going on for at least a couple of decades.

Suicide by cop didn't used to be a thing because they were trained to keep their cool and only use deadly force as a very last resort. Surprisingly, with the introduction of tasers, their jobs should have gotten easier and significantly less violent, with less use of nightsticks and way less use of firearms. Also, they seem to be protected by their brotherhood as well as the justice system, and get away with way too many abuses, hence the public increasingly fighting back with audits, protests, and riots. (I like auditing videos that teach about fourth amendment rights and how to stand firm with cops, who will try to manipulate compliance when there is no law to enforce it.)

They sign up to be in danger, they expect to take some hits. I say this as a retired cop's daughter, and he was on the force in the 70s and 80s in a very large city with, at the time, the 9th highest murder rate in the country. In all that time, he drew his gun exactly once, and never fired. Five years in uniform, the rest as a detective in burglary, robbery, and homicide.

But in the case of the protests...which, when peaceful, is a constitutionally protected right, right? Folks have in some of these instances gathered peacefully and the cops have assaulted them. In a case like that, if the cops are willing to be violent, I'd say fair game, take advantage of it. But generally they're using things like rubber bullets, they're assaulting but not murdering. However, if they're willing to murder and one wants to be murdered, and take the risks of injury, recovery, and prosecution, I see no problem with stepping up for it.

I'm going to tell you that your chance from dying by cop during this is near 0%. Cops have to follow orders, and in many areas the people running the cities and state views everyone on ground is a possible voter. So they don't want to allow them to protect themselves or do anything. That is why there is a lot of cops that died during this already.

You actually have a near 100% chance of dying due to the protesters if you do it right. When antifa or others show up. Wear some MAGA/antifa go home hat or shirt, and stand there. They will most likely beat the crap out of you before you die. But they already killed people for just being near them and no other reason during this. I wouldn't suggest this because you most likely will be in a lot of pain as you die.

Btw do you really want to die and be remember for going to an event, yelling random crap, and having virtually no effect on any change unless if your death causes some change? Like you might think of yourself as a hero. But think about it for a few minutes, because people will have a lifetime to think about what you did. If you just care about what your parents think and no one else. Go in some bad area and make it look like a robbery that went wrong.

Last bit of advice, I will tell you as someone who was trained with a gun. In action it can be hard to shoot someone that won't put them in stupid pain, but it is stupid easy to get shot and not die. Most of your body can be hit with a bullet and you will be OK after a few months.

Don't worry, it's not redundant. Your thread is actually about a suicide method. The other poster's wasn't.

Uh...you just have to bring a weapon and try to use it on them if you want to get shot.
But no guarantee you'll get fatally shot. That would hurt.
