In hanging, I have read about putting a plastic bag over your head to insure you suffocate after you pass out, for extra insurance or of something goes wrong.
Would duct taping your mouth, the putting a peg on your nose work aswell/better? You shouldn't feel much, if any, discomfort providing the veins and arteries are compressed and you pass out in around 10 seconds. Would also eliminate the need to compress the trachea?
