Bring 3 Bottles of Port. Go to beach. Down 2 Bottles of Port, and keep one more in my hand. Waddle as far as I can. (up to my shoulders probably). Drink one more bottle of port.

One question
1. Yes/No

drowning sounds awful...plus they may never recover your body, if that matters...

You'll probably just wash up on the beach and wake up with a face full of sand you have to really far out to get washed out to sea

I was told drowning isn't so bad once you get past the panic. The plan was to get an inflatable boat, paddle out as far as possible, get wasted and puncture/burn a hole in the boat. Also humping a rucksack full of sponge there. Rocks were suggested but sponge is heavy enough when wet.
Don't forget sand fleas. Anyone who's fell asleep on the beach will know sand fleas.

Sounds like a great plan and not sand fleas fuck, those things are the worse and they get everywhere

Drowning is supposed to be one of the most peaceful ways to go if you can overcome the body's instinct to fight.

Plenty of people have died from either alcohol and a bathtub or a combination of drugs and alcohol, the oceans just a big salty bathtub.

I personally wouldn't do it. As someone who's a big drinker myself, if I blacked out then fell into water I'd "unblack out" pretty damn quick and panic.

Hah. Brilliant ideas come to different minds simultaneously! I was thinking about exactly the same around 1 year ago, when SS didnt even exist. To get on a boat in open sea, toss a good dose of Valiums and make it sink.

As an australian. If i was going to go at sea id just strap some slabs of uncooked meat to me and start swimming around at night.
The amount of tiger and great white sharks off the coast it wouldnt be long at all.
Painful way to go but one good bite and youll bleed out pretty quick.

Thanks. I've only blacked out once so I don't really have enough experience on that. I guess this is something important that would stop me.

I considered this myself as well, yet the fear that I might remain quite conscious throughout the drowning process, has kept me from in fact acting on the thought. One person mentions Valium on a boat, perhaps this could be an idea - like another user also writes - to paddle out far enough on a little boat, take what medical/alcoholic aid you feel will bring unconsciousness and then make a hole in the bottom of your chosen watercraft in time.

I'd use drugs, not alcohol. That was my original plan until I realised I could access SN.

Use sleeping meds, something like an antipsychotic (not too difficult to get from a doctor) and use that

Doesn't seem like the worst idea, but personally, since I'm not a fan of drowning, I'd pick for a different method. I suppose this could work for people who aren't scared of drowning and/or don't have access to other or better means.

I guess it depends on where you're bitten, like if an artery was severed, then yes bleeding out quickly is very likely, otherwise I'd imagine it'll be very agonizing and painful before you lose conscious and die.

I'm leaning toward shallow water blackout (SWB), which you might consider. Don't know how the alcohol in your system would impact on the method, but if the method works they way advocates describe (and there are some here with well reasoned doubts about the method) you drown without the distress of drowning in a traditional (while you're conscious) way. Search SWB or Shallow Water Blackout here. There's loads of information and good back and forth debate about its merits. Something you might consider, anyway...
