Haven't seen this documentary talked about on here. such a sad sad story.

Joyce Carol Vincent (19 October 1965 – c. December 2003) was a British woman whose death went unnoticed for more than two years as her corpse lay undiscovered in her London bedsit. Prior to her death, Vincent had cut off nearly all contact with those who knew her. She resigned from her job in 2001, and moved into a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Around the same time, she began to reduce contact with friends and family. She died in her bedsit around December 2003 with neither family, co-workers, nor neighbours taking notice. Her remains were discovered on 25 January 2006, with the cause of death believed to be either an asthma attack or complications from a recent peptic ulcer.

What if she CTB because she craved the isolation after years of abuse, what if she did it on purpose because she wanted it that way?
Still sad then?
I would fucking *love* it if I'm never missed or discovered, two years is a pretty good run.

I wouldnt want such a docu to be made about me if my body was undiscovered for so long...Such a shame...I wondered what is a procedure to make such a docu about a deceased person...do they ask a family member or is it all allowed because she is dead?

I thought this as well. it's quite possible this is the way she wanted it to go down. but to me just the fact that even her neighbors who lived below her didn't even notice her missing. thats just hurts. to be alive and be invisible.

to be dead and unmissed is OK. but to be living and still be invisible to people directly around you. that just shows how messed up we are as a civisilation.

Thats London for you , I wouldn't live there for all the tea in China !

( This phrase originated around the late 19th/early 20th century and derives from the fact that China was well-known to produce tea in huge quantities. ... So, to decline the offer to do something 'for all the tea in China' is to be determined not to do it, whatever inducement is offered. )

Just in case you youngsters wondered what i meant lol

Hm. I find invisibility a relief. People, you know? Disappearing the way she did frankly seems like a dream. I don't leave my apartment for weeks at a time, and I'm sad if I have to. I can't wait to try to move someplace more anonymous. I fucking hate when people say my name. Hate it when they even know my name. I am really only comfortable with text.

How are people undiscovered for that long? Unless you live in a place where u don't have to pay anything to be there like property tax for example. If there is no reason to check that building or apt. If I die where I live I'd be found within a month at most though my neighbors would notice they are seeing my car but I'm not coming and going anymore.

The upside of not being found for a while is that you don't have to worry about what each method does to your body. By the time police break down my door, it won't be pretty no matter what.

This essentially happened to me, while I was alive. Gone from my condo for months and not a single person inquired where I was.

What if Sn poisoning looks like a peptic ulcer after two years?

I'm impressed that she wasn't burgled at least once in two years! Not that a burglar would raise the alarm or anything, but they'd probably have left a smashed window, or door open as they ran off, terrified.

Breaking and entering aint what it used to be ;)

There's a wonderful film called 'Still Life' that deals with the subject of such deaths.

Hate it when they even know my name.

I know that feeling. I don't want people to know anything about me, not in real life anyway. Forums etc are just about ok because nobody knows who I am.

I like living in cities because you can live anonymously very easily.
