The bus is probably going about as fast as she would have been if she had jumped off a 10-15m building. Definitely possible, just not good odds. She played those odds and died, but is still a very bad method that was likely to leave her alive and in worse shape than before.
People die all kinds of ways that you wouldn't think could happen or cause death.
