Just an update

I strangled myself with padding and felt like I was in the right spot. My pulse was directly beating against the rope. I didn't feel like my head was exploding which was good. I did feel liquid blobs going around my brain, it felt very tangible. ChatGPT says its "cerebrospinal fluid pressure shifts, or even your brain's response to oxygen deprivation"

My face became very red. I had a timer and lasted until 1 minute and 30 seconds. I untied everything because afaik you should pass out earlier than that. I may have to apply more pressure

Thank you for checking up on me. :) I am determined to get this right, if this doesnt work I can do actual hanging since I have climbing rope on the way today. But I have to wait for it.

I think what I dont like is the hallucinations I am getting. Audiovisual. This is why I stopped trying to listen to music while attempting. They contribute to the hallucinations. I prefer to listen to the chatter outside

I like the feeling of loss of consciousness through compression of the carotids but I can only do it with my fingers right now, not yet with a rope. I've been trying to look for ways to navigate this aside from really really tying it tight but I haven't found the comment/thread

I've tried twice recently with strangulation - once with soft but non stretchy dressing gown cord - could only close off jugulars no matter how tight I pulled it. Once with an army tourniquet, which allowed more tightening but too much pressure on larynx, even if I put rolled up socks or cornhole bags or small chewing gum bottle containers over the carotids. I used to be able to do this method (previously when practising) but I think I'm too fat now and the fats protecting the arteries. So it'll have to be another method. Realised now that hanging is also out unless I lose weight because if the carotids are protected, hanging will be prolonged and very painful. I still have charcoal and sn options so it'll have to be them cos I emotional eat a lot so can't lose weight. But if I was leaner, army tourniquet I'm sure would do the job with socks over the carotids to concentrate the pressure.

Was daydreaming about it again today. Do you have some time for more research while you wait for the climbing rope? Or time to have a chat with the peeps you wanted to? Just because, if done right, it is very quick and painless. Also I'm very impulsive and although I do wish to die, it'll have to be impulsive to overcome SI. The recommended starving for sn has defeated me recently so I'm gonna ave to risk not starving and taking antiemetics for all that time. It's likely gonna be starve as long as I can, take antiemetic and do it and hour later.
Charcoal can be more unreliable and slower I think. My head is too foggy to cope with measuring CO (or testing sn for that matter) so I'll have risks of failure. With the tourniquet, once it's fully locked there's nothing more you need to do and as long as it's not just jugulars, you're done. There's no way your brain is going to be able to unlock the thing after you're unconscious, and done right, you're unconscious within seconds.

I am quite calm, though I do want to get over it today. I think I've regained some senses into my face after multiple strangles.

Hanging (whether partial nor full) isn't my method of choice. But you're right - just a few inches are not enough for full. The the rope (and body) might stretch a bit and make it much more agonizing than it'd actually be.

Glad we can be here for you in a way. I'm going to give it some time with the SN, my life has been one big roller coaster in hell since joining this site, and only now with me having some place to reside, with some income, can I make the purchase. I want to HAVE IT, see if I can get off the roller coaster and breathe, knowing I can use it when needed ... About hanging, I honestly don't recall successful goodbye threads, SN is pretty much the preferred method obviously. Are you a bit more comfortable now with your rope, and the method?
