Does the new war in the Middle East make you more or less suicidal?

For me these kinds of sad events make me dislike the world more but as a double sided coin I also don't want to miss the next big episode as morbid as that sounds.

Just wondered if anybody else felt the same way or if different how it effects you.

Actually, yes, recent world events over the past few years have pushed me toward my decision (even more than I do myself lol), as if there is no longer a place for me, as if all of this has become a cancerous tumor that will kill me much worse than I could ever kill myself...

Definitely, every time I hear about any cruelty I'm reminded of the savage nature of human beings and what people are capable of for just a few stupid reasons. It only reassures me about my decisions.

I used to be involved in the contractor world (which is where my knowledge on languages and firearms this forum has seen my talk about is from), and as bad as it seems, if boots on the ground do come, to me that's just another route for good pay. It probably sounds strange or outright disturbing to outside observers and granted yea it is, we're very hard people to find so it's not like you hear a lot of my type.

So I don't want to miss out on anything. I was too young for the peak of GWOT and apparently FOMO is stronger than the need to die lately.

I think the suicide rate always drops in wartime

Being hypersensitive these events make me distressed. It angers me that evil occurs and most people don't care until they're personally affected. I resent that gentle people are burdened by the evils of the world while obnoxious oafs don't give a shit.
Our species is truly disgusting. It's the responsibility of every person to confront evil.
If they don't chances are it will come knocking eventually.

Neither are close to me but I have empathy for all whether they are close or not. I'm not worried about the effect on me and my life in a direct way but I hate humans hurting others and destroying the world. It's painful to watch a world full of hate and suffering.

More, its just such a mess. For the empathy for those caught up in it. But also for the bias and reactions towards certain wars but total ignoring of others that are arguably more brutal and been going on way longer.

However, it ends up making me less. Because its too much to take. So I zone out and isolate even more into my bubble and solo work shifts and exercising, which sees time disappear without being aware. Without active planning or ideating. But then I feel shit when I snap 'back into the room' and remember what's going on out there. So I zone out again. Which is probably worse. Its what they want. Autopilot robots going to work regardless. Urgh.

There's nothing I alone can do to stop genocide I'm above the age for a regular draft and I'm also not a man so no war time fragging for me. I'm in such agony all the time that I can't follow the news closely, it's too much to take to stay updated on the details and think about it at length. I used to engage with news/politics deeply before my life got ruined. If reading the news makes your pain worse, I would urge you to take breaks from it as an act of self-care. <3

Ironically this will most likely be an overstretch for the US government and push them further away from control, which in the long run might seem positive for the world but falling empires always tend to die via overstretch and when they do it generally means they spray destruction all around them. My worry is what despotic regime takes its place too. Just sad all round really.

American here, I lived through the Gulf War, then the Afghanistan War. This is just another war and a long line of the US government after oil. The war does not specifically contribute to my suicidality. It is just one more thing in a long line of the world going to shit that is pushing me closer to the edge.

You are sensitive soul like me. I have the same opinion about the war in the Middle East.
This world in which innocent children are killed by the thousands and more are injured, isn't for me.

Actually, I don't really care. The world has been in decline for several decades and I simply waiting for it's end. It's has no effect on my suicidality, since my life is already broken, but I'm just sad by the fact that the world I was taught about is no longer exist.
