Does SN usually costs this much?

I have someone saying they could sell me 500g of SN for 150$ USD. This would include international shipping from India to Canada, does this sound real or too much?

As was already said 150$ is too expensive, but as you said it includes shipping, international shipping costs can be quite expensive. SN is usually a cheap chemical and depending on where you live you can buy 1kg for about 10$.

If it's a company I would say the risk is low (but still expensive!) but from a private individual I would see a red flag here.

Id definitely try to find a good company, that's trustworthy with good reputation to buy from, esp from overseas. If its a private seller, he probably got it cheap, and reselling to you for a much higher price. Seems very expensive, even with shipping factored in.

But if it is, for example, a chemical company that sells many products (not only SN), then it should be a real SN.
SN is simply salt that is cheap to produce, so no real company has any reason to cheat.

If this company only sells SN and the website looks suspicious for some reason, I would avoid it.

People usually pay a maximum of 50-100$ for 500 grams.
But you can also buy it for 10$ or even cheaper.

150$ is a lot, but if the seller is a real and reliable company, the SN should be fine.

However, if you don't need to buy yet, you can look for another place.
