Does SN burn throat and stomach?

Some of the people who ingests SN says that it burned their mouth and throat. I know sodium nitrite is corrosive but peaceful pill handbook says that sodium nitrite is peaceful. Why is that?

Why is sodium nitrite corrosive? The sodium nitrite solution obviously ends up as incredibly salty, so if you have any cuts in your mouth then it will burn like salt on a wound. Otherwise I don't know why it would burn, it's very salty and not pleasant to drink, but should not burn. From my experience it's just like drinking water with a lot of table salt, just with a subtly different flavour.

It's not like battery acid where it's going to dissolve your throat and stomach. It's a chemical so it does leave a tingly feeling. Kinda like swallowing mouth wash, without the minty fresh part.
