Discussion Does anyone want to die because of their race?

I haven't been on this site for ages, so if I'm not supposed to link to a news article, then please delete the thread.

This article is confusing. While its nice to see a professor accepting of the decision to ctb and I'm all for free speech, I don't see how deciding to ctb due to skin color is rational.

I'm not annoyed by his article because I'm white, but because I don't like being told what to do. In fact, one of the many reasons I want to ctb is because of people telling me how to think and believe. The decision to ctb is and should be a personal one.

Maybe the prof thought he was getting some moral brownie points for this rhetoric or wanted to get attention. Regardless, I don't think he's going to convince anyone to ctb due to skin color, at least not directly. Someone who is already depressed however, may read this and feel worse. There's already a pandemic of depression and self hatred. Why add to it?

We, as a race of beings that is supposed to be intelligent and the top of the food chain on this planet seems to be, at least somewhat, still in the cave. We are ALL the same period. I could care less about anything except personality and smarts. What does it matter the color of ones skin, sexual orientation, heck anything.

If we want to survive as a species then we must go to the stars some day. If not we will be just like the dinosaurs. I am white and for me a person comes down to being nice, thoughtful, caring, smart and NOT egotistical, greedy, self-centered or have a discriminatory bone in one's body.

CTB is about factors that DO NOT include anything about skin color, race, anything period. Everyone on here knows that, we are a good group of folks with lots of love and caring for each other.

My wish is for everyone to work together and love and care for each other. Always see with one's eyes shut!
